The way this game is going, it's brilliant for Argentina. It should be a matter of just beating Nigeria in the last game and they're as good as through. The bigger the Nigeria win the better for Argentina, at this stage. It puts it back in Argentina's own hands, anyway.

Iceland was a nice sorry two years ago at the Euro’s but I don’t want them through to the knockout stages, not great to watch!

Give me Messi over Kari Arnason in the last 16 please, saying that the Nigerians are fun and wouldn’t begrudge them a last 16 spot.

Right decision made. Another win for VAR... even if they didn't show the ref the best replay, from the side line.

The athleticism of the Nigerians is unreal. Pure pace and power, 2 very good goals.

It will be interesting to see how they get on against Argentina's defense

Argentina have been given a 2nd chance they don’t deserve.
But I’m not sure they will take it tbh.

Last day looking very interesting in this group now.

Question whether Croatia will play their reserves or not - you'd have to assume they'd want to avoid the risk of facing France, and avoid the risk of losing to Iceland and Nigeria beating Argentina & catching them. That's assuming the Danes don't beat France and leave Croatia throwing it 5-0 v Iceland to avoid France, of course.

Certainly makes the whole lot of it very interesting. I presume RTE will go with:

Russia v Uruguay
Portugal v Iran
France v Denmark
Argentina v Nigeria

As the primary games to show, with the other games on the player. In each of those games, both teams have something substantial to play for, anyway, whether progress or group winning. Iceland v Croatia is the only other game where that applies, but Croatia are "only" playing to finish top, whereas both Argentina and Nigeria are playing to qualify (and have it in their own hands).

Delighted Nigeria won but I assume the 32 degrees and 90% plus humidity gave them an advantage over Iceland though they are very athletic anyways.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Iceland's remaining game is in Rostov-On-Don, so hopefully it's nice and hot down there.

Weather forecast for Tuesday says 33 degrees and lots of humidity.

Argentina to beat Nigeria tonight. Think the Croatians will still be good enough to get a draw also.

Are we in Russia or are we at La Bombenera.

Can't tell with all that blue and white in the stands, genuinely feels like a home game for the Argies.
