memo to Tottenham- if you’re going to appoint ex Chelsea bosses, ancelotti is your only man.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Rafa rock up there next though.

No Pasaran!

I think Kane - England captain for nearly 6 years - might have something to say about that.

Ditto Hugo Lloris - captained France a record 121 times.

Then there's Son:

"According to information published by the Korea Herald, [Son] finished as one of only five individuals to receive an award at the Marine Corps' training camp graduation ceremony on the southern island of Jeju.

While the exact scores of the trainees were not revealed, officials were quoted as saying that Son finished top out of a total of 157 people."

Or Højbjerg - Southampton's captain under Hassenhutl.

While Southgate has even spoken admiringly of Dier's leadership qualities and gave him the armband a couple of times when Kane was subbed.

Besides which, isn't Conte supposed to provide the leadership? It may not be entirely coincidental that during his recent absence, Spurs actually pegged up a few couple of decent results eg beating Man City, while it all went to hell against Milan after he returned.

Dier is like Phil Jones
You can not imagine spurs ever becoming a good team while he’s starting for them

Wouldn't argue with that, and it looks as though he'll be available this summer. Can't ever see him taking over at Spurs, mind, if only because he'll have his pick of bigger/better clubs.

I would. For whatever his qualities as a coach, he's a sneaky bugger away from the pitch/training ground (owners, directors etc) - hardly Levy's type.

Anyhow, whatever else you think about Spurs, fact is, as a leading PL club, they'll not be short of applicants from all over - esp should they somehow keep hold of 4th place this season. (I know, I know... LOL)

From 2017:
"The 23-year-old was one of the only England players to emerge with credit from the Three Lions' dismal Euro 2016 campaign and was touted as a future leader in the aftermath of the tournament."
https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/england-captaincy-would-be-honour-dier-leadership-ambitions

And if his last couple of seasons for Spurs have been poor, we forget just how good he was before that, earning the first of his 49(!) caps even before Southgate took over.

Meanwhile, his recent form has picked up sufficiently for Southgate to recall him to his squad for Italy and Ukraine next week.

Part of the problem (aside from injuries) is that he's been picked in several positions - midfield, full back, CB in a four etc:
https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/spurs/news/pochettino-trusting-dier-was-a-gamble_307871.html

But imo he's nothing if not a CB, and then in the middle of a three, ideally given a "front foot" brief where possible - see eg Onuha's analysis of him vs Man City last month:

Conte acts a lot like Mourinho at times.
It would damage this forums' reputation

Strange decision for Bayern to sack him. Almost like admitting they dont have the stomach for one of the few genuine title races they have been in for the past decade.

Looks like it will be Mason until the end of the season and more than likely Nagelsmann or Ruben Amorim in the summer
