Plenty of good new music out there , as always.

I definitely do think it's a lot harder to find in fairness.like everything now, music just follows a formula so the same sh*te gets regurgitated

Definitely great artists out there. Fontaines have a massive following, wouldn't be my cup of tea but can appreciate their talent and creativity etc

Stream services just work off algorithms so you get the same sh*te.

Popular radio stations have hourly quotas of the same songs to play to please sponsors.

Online radio stations are the best way to get new music. I find the BBC app good. Giles Peterson and Tom Ravenscroft always pushing decent new stuff.

There were hardly any stoppages in fairness in the first half there.

There was a lot more than 1 minute, a minute that was blown up early.

In the groups that would have been 4 or 5 minute injury time.

No idea who the biggest band in the world is, or what that even means to be honest.

I'm not a music buff nor read much about music etc but I've never even heard of them bands you named.

It just shows that music is so bad when there is no mega bands out there.  Where is the U2 or Queen of this generation?

Music is absolute bollox now.  The 80s was by a mile the best era.

Motley Crue coming to Dublin next year. Mick Mars has retired though. 😈

So, because there are no extremely popular bands, music is sh*te now?

Right.

Right.

There is some great music out there but as always you have to go look for it no matter what genre you are into be it alternative, dance, punk. Rap etc.

Right. At least in my case, there's still great music out there I haven't discovered yet, but it's from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Everything, and I mean everything, out there these days is turgid dreck.

The last 20 yrs has seen a musical desert imo.  And especially since 2010.

There's no such thing as the charts.  I dont count that download chart crap.  There's no Top of the Pops.  There's no music superstars apart from the manufactured bland stuff like Harry Styles or Ed Sheeran.
Where is the Michael Jackson or Prince of the last 20 years?  Where are all the bands who had real identity?

To be a pop star these days you need to have the tats man.  A sleeve.  Followed by a politically correct image that offends nobody.  They don't seem to have any identity or stand for anything.  They all seem so clean cut. Then create a few bland tunes and look good and you can be popular.

Was in the pub Sat night and the absolute dross that these kids think is cool is astonishing. The people born 1995 or after have been fed utter sh*te that that's all they know and think its good.

I literally couldn't name 5 well known bands formed since 2000.
