Dias is a very good player alright

The last two seasons have shown that teams still have to be built above all on a solid defence

MTK didn't have that last season, Liverpool did, and this season it's the reverse

Liverpool lost the title the moment that Pickford demolished van Dijk's knee

The mentality monsters could cope with anything though and weren’t a one man team we heard though

In hindsight the writing was on the wall even when Van Dijk and Gomez were in the team, losing 7-2 at Villa Park

They’ve been off form for a year now. Watford, Atletico, Chelsea in fa cup, city after restart, villa etc

When Roy Keane said they were “sloppy” in a 3-1 win over Arsenal early in the season he got ridiculed out of it by Klopp

Sure van Dijk, Gomez and Matip have all been out for most of the season

Early season form while winning means little anyway, freak results can always happen

Liverpool were still top at Christmas

No way would the collapse have happened with those three fit

They mightn't have won the title, but they'd likely be firmly in contention

It’s probably the city side I’ve enjoyed the most watching.I think their an all round better side than even the 2017/18 team....this side are ruthless at the back and can move so fast up the pitch into attack it’s brilliant to watch.today they never had to get out of 2nd gear and you feel if they wanted to or went behind they could easily quicken the tempo and score goals.I didn’t think we’d see a kompany type leader again at the club...but Dias has the potential to be better than kompany.....he’s so good he’s even turned John stones career around.

Fernandinho is just a master of disruptive, cynical fouls. Was at it all game and didn't get booked.

It's an art form.

cheating and getting away with it - really should be the club motto.

Perhaps they could approach Bernard Sumner, Johnny Marr and Neil Tennant for the use of the Electronic song "Getting Away With it" as the club song

I've been giving them the ball, just so I can foul on purpose
I've been forcing myself not to forget just to foul worse
I've been getting away with it all my life
Getting away with it
All my life

Whatever I do it's clear to see that I foul you more than you foul me

For Liverpool to be 9/4 second favorites a few weeks ago was stealing money

I suppose they’ll have City installed as CL favourites again

While we're at it.
Haha up your ballix.

It's a huge part of his game.

I'd love to have him playing for Arsenal.

He’s a fantastic all round midfielder and tactical fouling has always been part of it

just the once he fouled and the officials correctly caught him. 100% performance from them. A bit like the manager and the failed drug test, very bad luck getting caught that one time.

19 wins in a row
The world record for wins in a row in club football stands at 24 (Coritiba of Brazil)

Professional job done tonight, BMG couldn’t get out of their half such was the City press

Tougher tasks ahead

Cancelo was immense

If they’re to go far in this tournament Sterling and Jesus are going to have to be a lot more clinical

He reminded me of d.Silva tonight cancelo....popping up in little pockets in last third then standing in midfield getting moves going.yeah a little wasteful tonight but again it was a win done in second gear....if sterling converted half of the chances he gets he’d win top scorer every season,Jesus had one bad one but his overall game is really improving.aguero could be returning just at the right time for a push to win that champions league....I know i say it over and over but rodri was average tonight, chalk and cheese between him and ferindino.

Looking very good.
Definitely have a great chance this year as the league is done so that allows for rotation and the Spanish teams are below their best.

A lot depends on the draw tho. Ideally they want to avoid Bayern and the other English sides.
