Yer man Ben Dinnery (injury analyst) on Twitter estimates c. 3 months out. The decision not to replace Kompany is looking increasingly odd. Still, should make for a better title race as they look very light at the back now.

I think Maguire was the main target to replace Kompany, but they wouldn't go as high as Leicester's price tag
Walker and Fernadinho have been mentioned as options to play there. Will be interesting to see how they go.

Cartilage and meniscus should be quicker than any ligament damage. However, a knee is rarely 100% right for a good while afterwards, no matter the injury.

Typically, Vincent Kompany is out of his own testimonial tonight with a hamstring injury

He might have bigger things to be worrying about before long (or his new club, at least): |

I see there were some articles written online (on the Express) with the headline -
“Why was James Milner booed in Vincent Kompany’s testimonial by City fans” Talk about fake news. Milner wasn’t there Some agenda against City

Testimonials, friendlies and Cup games are the worst for the riff-Raff. Fans who think they know how they know how they should behave even though this is the first game they’ve attended in years.

Is it really a testimonial if there isn’t a pantomime villain on the field? Di Canio when he was Sunderland Manager playing at Newcastle’s testimonial springs to mind.

Sad. Not that Neville doesn't deserve to be booed for his rim job performance on Roy Keane the other night.

Why it sad? I find it sadder that people find it sad!
It's a charity event ffs. I even got booed for my own charity gig It wasn't personal. It's just a fun occasion where he played for a rival, let's take the piss out of him and he probably pissed himself laughing too. The type of people who find it 'sad' are the type who clap as their flight lands.

I'm not aiming that at people who are only sl*gging and taking the piss. I'm obviously talking about the ones that would abuse rival players at a charity event. It wasn't a derby. |

He barely challenged Keane the other night when he was clearly in disagreement with him. Like the rest of the pundits, he's afraid of challenging Keane on his points imo.

Football rivalry isn't sad.
If, for example, Joey Barton was playing at a testimonial at Celtic Park, Robbie Fowler was playing at Old Trafford in a testimonial against Man United, or Robbie Keane was playing at the Emirates they would get booed. It isn't really a story, and it isn't the story here The story here is of national newspapers inventing stories about players getting booed who weren't even on the pitch Edited by Roberto Baggio - 13 Sep 2019 at 5:05pm |
