In Tolka tonight, entertaining game! Supposedly the boycot is over, wouldn't have noticed.. the team that tried to play football lost 3-2. Don't see either challenging for automatic, definitely both in with a shout of the play offs.

Athlone Town 1:3 UCD
All goals second half.
2 goals from George 'Georgie' Kelly and 1 from Yousef 'Yoyo' Mahdy gets our strikers off the mark and an early win against Athlone in comparison to others years it took 3 games before UCD got a win.

Wexford v UCD Monday 19th March. The Students havent won at Ferrycarrig Park since 2009. 2 losses 2015, 2 draws 2017. A win would give us points we havent got in the recent past and a good weekend.

No real idea how good Cabinteely are but is there a reason to bet on them ??

Meanwhile in Athlone...

The only First Division game of the day is taking place at Lisseywollen as Athlone host Cabinteely. And the home side have had to start midfielder Luke Kelly in goal due to unavailability or injury. No score in that one after 40 minutes.

Ramblers are pathetic so far this season. UCD full value for the win tonight. Once again ramblers created absolutely nothing going forward. Have serious worries over our keeper too. He can pull off a ridiculous save but he is so prone to a clanger it's not even funny. An easy target for opposition teams.

UCD outright leaders, with Georgie Kelly hat-trick v a very competive Finn Harps. Paddy McCourt pulled the strings for the FHFC goals. Kelly manufactured three goals, the first from a mid-height flick into the peno spot and he had to stoop for the lead. McCourt assist two in two minutes before HT. Kelly again won the ball from rushed route one keeper kick-out, held off defender and still had twenty yards to make up to shoot passed  the advanced keeper.  Third came from perseverence and got in ahead of the keeper at the second attempt.
It showed last year as 2017 First Division leading scorer, Kelly was winning balls and scoring from a disadvatageous positions. It's not usually for UCD to score like that. It's a nice.

Outright top of the division, we lost to Drogheda Utd last week after reaching the same position. A win while we are out on our own would be nice.

Another horror show from The Ramblers. No doubt the spindoctor in charge will put a twist on it to make it seem OK.
Last weeks excuse took the biscuit  Battered out the gate by Drogheda and he goes on local radio declaring he thought the team played well and competed.
