I don't think you will find a single human being on planet earth who wants nuclear weapons to be used, in any capacity. In wartime however, it doesn't mean that they won't be. It's impossible to guess what a Russian politician will do when he's cornered, but the threat is there that he will resort to the most destructive weapon of the lot. And there's no guarantee that it would hit the target it's supposed to either. Landmines are being used by both sides atm, which are horrific weapons that cause intolerable suffering to their victims, and as the Balkans know all about, take decades to clear after the event. When those provinces become part of Russia, the West can't risk attacking them. It's one thing saying that you won't recognize them as Russia, but that doesn't mean Putin won't. His men control that nuclear power plant atm, and if he wants them to do something with it to defend the Russian state in his eyes, then they will. |

well it looks like he'll soon have a decision to make. ukraine is in control of a large part of the russian annexed territories including the city of zaporizhzhia. what is putin going to do about those areas once the result of the referendum is announced? to complicate things for him it appears luhansk in its entirety could soon be liberated with news drip feeding in of a partial collapse in russian lines in the north east, this will immediately put russian forces in donetsk in the sh*t.

When people jump up and down about the re-vote on Nice and Lisbon, it’s worth looking at the regional votes in Ukraine yesterday. Might change a mind or two.

Well, the narrative around the re-vote that it was somehow anti-democratic to ask twice. The results in the regions look like the Dunny-on-The-Wold by-election.

Former Russian international footballer Diniyar Bilyaletdinov – who helped his nation to the semifinals of the 2008 European Championship – has received a summons as part of his country’s partial mobilization, his father has told Russian media. Bilyaletdinov, 37, won 46 caps for his country during a playing career which included spells at Russian clubs Spartak Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow, as well as a three-year stay at English Premier League team Everton. |

I see the Russians are blaming US intelligence services for what happened to Nord Stream. Stating that it happened in a US controlled territory and highlighting that the US did say they would destroy the project if Russia invaded Ukraine.
Russia and US are meeting in New York later to discuss the leaks. It is not beyond the realms of possibility I suppose.

I think Putin needs a big bomb to go off in Russia that he can pin on the Ukrainian's, that will help galvanise the public and help his unpopular mobilisation. Tomorrow's rally in Moscow would be a good target.

What's peoples thoughts on the pipleine. Reckon this one will have conspiracy theories for years until it's done.
I know we all see Putin rightly as the bad guy in this, but I'm struggling to see why they would damage it. The stranglehold they have on EU with Gas supply is their main bargaining chip in this war, why would they damage it? That army ex TD lad was suggesting on the news last night that the underwater exercises Russia was doing off Castletownbere was somehow linked, this was them practicing blowing sh*t up underwater. Who else has motive to blow it up? The Yanks would love to weaken the Russians. Europe would have no interest as it cuts off our gas supply.

Biden threatened years ago by any means necessary and they did so at the start of the war by shutting the Nord stream 2. They've already found gas elsewhere and Russia most likely predicts Germany would never use the pipeline again anyway so in their mind have nothing to lose. Don't forget Putin is the crazed dictator here who's literally losing his mind with how bad his invasion is going. America are the only other realistic candidates but t they've less reason to do it.

Russia now claims that an attack on their annexed territory is an attack on Russian soil and will respond with nukes. Russians. A great bunch of lads.
