I think Ronaldo will be better for United though.

Juventus done well without Ronaldo tonight!

Losing at home to the Italian giants Empoli.

1 game the theory holds true Confused

They went from Champions League finalists twice and walking the league to Champions League early rounds and not winning the league. He did what he does and that's score goals but it was to the detriment of that Juventus side and it would have been the same with Man City.

It would damage this forums' reputation

Out of his near 700 goals, just 55 have been free kicks in an 18 year career.

Id love to know how many attempts at free kicks he has had for a goals to shot ratio.

Edit, 33 goals in 444 attempts at Madrid.

None of his managers has had the bottle to point out to him just how wasteful/selfish he is in those situations.

Curiously, I noted that in MCFC's game with Spurs, they had a couple of free kicks in positions from which teams normally try a shot - 25-30 yards out, reasonably central etc.

Yet they tried a training ground routine instead.

I wonder would Pep have stuck with that had Ronaldo signed for them? LOL

Crossed my mind alright. 444 direct shots at goal rather than in his case, trying something unorthodox. Mad Ted.

You seem angered by Ronaldo's free-kick scoring stats. Which is very odd.

Ronaldo scores 7.8% of the time he takes a free kick which is, since records began, better than anybody else on record.

The average any team scores from a free kick is 6.1% of the time, so Ronaldo himself scores almost 30% more than the average team from direct free kicks. Amazing statistic, really.

Does Grealish hit free kicks?
I read somewhere recently about how good he was at them but can't remember any off the top of my head that he scored.....

Was listening to a City podcast earlier, the fella who covers them for the Athletic Sam Lee, who's actually a Man Utd fan was explaining how the Ronaldo deal came about.

So his take on it was that Ronaldo was offered to every top club in Europe at the start of the summer as he definitely wasn't staying at Juve. United were one of those clubs and had no interest at the time.
Then once City missed out on Kane Mendes offered them to City again and the deal was happening, a Juventus player who travels to training with Ronaldo every day said that Ronaldo told him it was on.
The ex-United players got involved then Ferdinand and Evra messaging Ronaldo, and Ferguson apparently told the Glazers that it would be Super League protests all over again if they let City sign Ronaldo....so they moved in

Seems very odd for you to be upset about a player's free kicks when all the statistics show he is the best at scoring from free kicks. It's like you're trying to have a go, but somehow chose an argument that literally details you are wrong. Very weird position to take seeing as the stats make you look very silly. So I must be a little lost, but what is the point you have been trying to make about the player who scores 30% more from free kicks than whole clubs at the top level?
