Would be good to see him and the other two young Irish lads there get decent game time in at least one of the more serious pre-season games, unfortunately yesterday's opposition was probably a similar standard to what he plays against regularly in the Lowland League.

Interesting though that all it took to start the Scottish media writing about his international eligibility was a goal against a bunch of Austrian part timers in a pre season game.

No end in sight to their decades long search for a decent goalscoring forward it seems.

What are the chances of him turning around and going towards Albania? His dad made the comments below previously:

“Nobody in the Albanian FA ever contacted me. I know Scotland have watched him but the Irish association was the first to get in contact,” his father Rudi told The Sun, adding he has been called a traitor in some social media abuse from his native country.

“They didn’t show any kind of respect, desire, or professionalism, and if they don’t do that, he will never touch a ball for Albania.

“I cannot dictate his decision. The most important thing is the boy is free to decide with his heart and mind. Anything can happen in the future but at the beginning, it is Ireland who have been in touch and shown interest and respect.”

The Albanian president is absolutely flat out on about Celtic on Twitter. Seems to be a huge fan. You'd expect him to make that Tweet. But he has had no influence so far.

Same applies to Ferizaj and Zefi Albania wont be nice about it they will be ruthless in there quests to get all 3 lads on board with them long term. 

See Broja for this brought him straight into the senior fold before he even made an appearance outside kids football! 

All 3 boys playing for us now that's all you can ask for. Pointless worrying about it after that. Be interesting to see will this rear it's head if Albania get to Euro 2024. All 3 boys look like coming up to men's football at a young age 3 fantastic prospects!

I suppose the difference with Broja is that he doesn't seem to have played underage for England - Albania got there first. Obviously the three Irish lads are all in our system already. 

While Albania are similar to NI and Wales in that they don't have much senior squad depth and therefore can accommodate speculative call ups, I'd hope that the three lads will stay with us for their underage careers and only switch down the line if they're not getting a look in with our senior squad.

Have a look at Ferizaj's father's Twitter. He is absolutely flat with the tri colours. Similar to Vata, these guys are part of relatively successful teams and have embraced playing for Ireland.

President Meta attended the Celtic v Cluj 1-1 game in Romania a few years back i think thats when it all started then Rudi - Rocco's dad had already been friends

I dont have any worries about Ferizaj or Zefi, they are born and bred in ireland and look two of our best prospects.

Vata is a bit different in that he is born and raised in Scotland, his dad was captain of Albania and the pull of ireland might not therefore be as strong.
