FFS LOL

What you reckon though? 42k followers. Will he make a couple of 100 per month?
I’m sure he’ll get some alright but what exactly are you paying for? Take yesterday for example, all these type fan pages talking about how amazing that young lads transfer is from Palace to Lyon, not one single page, from what I saw anyway, noted that the clubs have the same owner and that it’s a potentially bad thing for Cork city

I dunno maybe that’s the standard of analysis you get for a euro but it’s all hyperbolic nonsense with them pages
Why is it potentially bad for Cork? He's moving for a fee so they'll get a sell on fee. Unless the logic is that the fee is lower than his real value due to the shared ownership group?
Cork will get less money because the PL club is part of a multi club ownership.

That is indeed the logic. Palace already turned down a higher bid for him from Troyes. This way they keep him in the ownership group and if he's a £5m to £10m player in a few years time Cork get screwed.

Their content is fine when free, best of luck to them looking for subscribers

Gilroy back on again this morning to answer questions about the subscription service. Which can only be accessed by any one who signed up LOL

Did you subscribe ?

Haven’t as of yet. Might reconsider when the school year starts again. I’ve an hour drive each way so I listened to the football stuff a lot but I’ll see.

For any Patreon subscriber, I saw the lad who runs CrazyHousePrices saying that his patreon is €3 a month, of which he receives 60 cent per patron after the fees, vat and tax involved. Puts in perspective the work/reward put in by independent podcast compared to the likes of those backed by big networks.

So he was communicating with potential subscribers so on the show this morning. People who listened in love over the internet I presume.

Do all these subscription podcasts not just come out a day earlier for subscribers, and take away the ads?

If you absolutely must listen to a podcast on a certain day, that’s fine. But hardly worth the money.

I love the David McWilliams podcast but usually have two or three I haven’t listened to. And all I have to do is hit the +30 sec button twice or three times to get through the ads.

There’s another one I did subscribe to, an English car podcast, and it comes out early on patreon, but patreon doesn’t have a speed up feature and I like to listen to podcasts at 1.25x speed. Also, if you stop listening half way through on patreon, it doesn’t remember your last listening location. So there’s no point really in it.

I subscribed to Blindboy for a while as I liked what he was doing and wanted to contribute. But I think I still got the ads. Anyway, I stopped with him after a while.

Hes a bellend.

I gave that first episode a go and had to turn it off, the sh*te repetitive "banter" is just cringe at this point. Stupid dad jokes puns and the whole "burst onto the scene" thing. Then youve that insufferable cabbage big meeks as he likes to call himself laughing at nothing and interrupting everyone else when theyre trying to talk.

I really dont get how hes a pundit. They should have made him the clown on that ad, would have been more fitting.

Just back from in work after a week off and couldn't find off the ball and now find out it's not free to playback on their YouTube channel.

Debating now whether it's worth it. I do generally listen to about on average 2 hours a day of their content

If you download their app you get 3 podcasts a month for free.  That’s plenty for me.  Like the Sunday paper review so will download 3 of them a month and that will do me.

I've just started listening live in the mornings when usually I'd be listening to the podcast.

Think they also said there's a free trial for a month if you download the app.

Is anyone going to subscribe to Eire Guide? Only 1 euro subscription but they all add up! Don't think it really justifies to invest since you get similar updatd on your feeds from elsewhere.

I was always stop start in between meetings so found youtube channel very handy for it or sometimes the app.
Think it's a bit of a shame that the subscriptions are not joined up and you would need to get 2 subscriptions. I know it's technically more tricky but would definitely be more attractive if you could move between the platforms

Just a heads up on the 3 free listens they have. I listened to 1 podcast in 3 goes and that used up the free listens.
