I thought it was over the language bill?

So did I, probably a culmination of things

I saw the above tweet from Nolan and he's never far off the mark when it comes to unionist sources

Also, and I was chatting to someone earlier about this, surely at some point (maybe behind the scenes they have or are doing so) they will start to grate London and burn bridges? Are we approaching the day where The PM of said day starts to publicly denounce Northern Unionism?

Could be in for a rocky summer. Wee Seamie wants to bring the UVF down for parade in Dublin, not to provoke anyone he says! Can't see that going any other way than when Willie Frazer tried the same years ago.

Violence is the only hand that Loyalism has left to play and that's worrying

indeed. And you would worry also about the will to face up to it by the ‘security services’ up there if it did kick off big style. Could be left to London again, and that worked well the last time.

Aye, as 9F says there, there was quite the rebuke from MP for the the 17th Century to the DUP today that basically boiled down to you stupid f**kers agreed to this thing in essence and now it is what it is.

It's somewhat remarkable, though I seen a little bit of it tonight on BBC NIs  the View, that Loyal Ulster (tm) still hasn't seen the penny drop. They are a massive source of frustration and occasional embarrassment for Westminster. Cummings was recorded saying he doesn't care if NI drifts off into the sea.

They are increasingly isolated and it's starting to show

Ben is perpetually furious, it's unionism's default mode. A lot of the anger in the backwoods is incoherent and there are parallels with the ill-fated 'fleg' protests, except Seamie Beag and the other sh*tstirrers aren't getting as many on the streets. The violence card has its limitations. The mainstream paramilitaries are reluctant to get involved. They have other priorities such as drug rackets and ripping off government grants, also they are riddled with touts from top to bottom so liable to be decimated very quickly if they kick it off, with some out on licence now going back to jail, this time for the rest of their natural. There will be no collusion from the Brits this time as it no longer suits their national interests to have loyalists killing people. Some young idiots outside the mainstream may well go to clink, as with the 'fleg' protests, but there you go, Darwin was right. The DUP pantomime will go on with Sir Jeffrey getting his turn this time. Marvellous entertainment, Game Of Thrans as someone recently called it. Might listen to Nolan on the radio this morning for the laughs.
