Heading over in October.

Any decent bars, resturants or anything different to see other than the usual?

I watched the Austria away match in the Pig N Whistle  55th and 3rd Avenue.
Good atmosphere there and P.J Clarke's is across the road which does amazing food. Worth a visit.

Had a memorable night in here years ago. There is loads of history, I was especially taken by the wishbones, plenty of wisecracking New Yorkers, decent beer and great service. I will never forget my night there anyway, well worth it.

Clarke's definitely do a mean burger. It's always stupidly busy in there but they're well used to it and service is generally spot on.

Was in the pub where they shot a Raging Bull scene and the barman was the most surly cxxt you could ever meet. Even at $3 a beer it was overpriced with that fcukpot working there.

Rudy's Bar and Grill is a great spot
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Watched us beat Georgia at home in the last campaign there. It was OK, but there were about 6 matches going on the different screens and the commentary was on the Scotland game. A mad Albanian man beside us watching Albania v Portugal was more interesting to watch than the Ireland game.

To be fair Baggio 90% of the restaurants in NY will be fab.

P.J Clarke’s – Old fashion Irish bar since 1884 that does amazing burgers (Sinatra and Jackie Kennedy etc. used to visit this place all the time) – the décor is still the same!!      55th / 3rd Avenue

Went to the Pig n whistle on 55th last Monday. Was a major disappointment, only about 3 others watching the game, they had no commentary on and had a Frank Sinatra CD playing over the bar, had to ask the barman to turn it off and get the commentary on. They also had subtitles up on the screen which was very off putting

At half time we left and went to a bar called The Long Hall (34th street)
Recently opened by a Sligo fella. Was a great crowd in and good atmosphere for the goal and celebrations that ensued
