Well played by Obafemi there. Didn't panic in possession.

Nice one. Thank god MON gave him his cap and didn't leave him a potential switch later on. Good turn into a serious player.
f**king hell, United are sh*te. Hope they don't make their usual comeback. Edited by eireland - 01 Dec 2018 at 5:55pm |

As i said, edited it for being a dope.
Thought Redmond got the assist for the goal. He hasn't been involved much to be fair.

Loads of positive reactions from Southampton fans on Twitter, saying they were really impressed with his pace and they think he's a fine prospect

Surely he'll be in the senior squads more than the u21s if he plays more regularly for Southampton.

The level he is playing at as a striker is already well ahead of all our other forwards bar Shane Long.

Would he be ahead of Long at Southampton now?

Good question. A lot of Southampton fans are expressing surprise at the way he has appeared from nowhere and is suddenly in the team and playing well (quite a few aren't even aware he is Irish) He shares one thing with Long : blistering pace.....people commenting on just how fast he is |

Young lad, but was disappointed by his touch. Ball never seems to stick to him - just seems to have bounced off him back to United. Early assist aside, seems to have lost out to Phil Jones about 9 times out of 10 when the ball was played in to him. Maybe just nerves, with his first start coming in such a big game.
Obviously young and a long way to go and Hughes must see something serious in him to be promoting him so early. Southampton Academy has a fantastic record of developing top-class players, so a good sign overall. Thank Jebus he was capped against Denmark and we're spared another Grealish-Rice saga.

In his first PL start he ran the channels well, and got a tidy assist. Involved in a nice move just before he went off too. He is 18 and can only improve. Hopefully he gets a run of games, we have a huge opening up front and it wouldn't take much to fill it. If he keeps getting starts at PL level and scores a couple of goals then he could be our first choice in 2019. Probably best for him if Hughes stays there as long as possible, as he clearly likes him and the next manager mightn't.

Was very good in his composure and ability in possession around the box, which I wasn't expecting. Hadn't seen a lot of him, and going off comments on here I just expected him to be capable of running in behind and nothing else.
Shame about the injury, should have had a penalty too.

Hughes sacked as manager. Hopefully this wont harm his chances under new man. Prob will as they will no doubt be looking for a striker or two in jan.
