United struggled badly? Thought United were in complete control and felt it was only a matter of time before they got the second goal which they did.

"This match by all Account was nothing  at all like the scoreline suggests" this is a line taken from up his holeman's little fable, now any reasonable person reading that would come to the conclusion that this spoofer is basing his verbal gik on all he has read from reports and possibly seen highlights and certainly not someone who has watched the full game, but no doubt he will have some journalistic trick up his hoop to counter this

Dear god Hans

Put that shovel away before you go any deeper. Its the same cringy stuff you spouted when Utd won the Europa.

Getting on SirAlex level of boring which is ironic as you liked quoting past stuff from him!

Herrera will play against the tougher teams I'd say. Mata being used to provide more creativity to try and open up teams who will get all their players behind the ball

Think the midfield that's started the first 2 games is his strongest, in spite of the fact that I am a fan of Herrera and he obviously had a very good season last year.

Pogba has looked a lot better already IMO as he is doing more of the simple thing and having Matic there to anchor frees him up. I expect him to have a huge season for United this year. The pressure of the price tag has also disappeared with the ridiculous transfer fees this year which will also help him.

I think Rashford's lack of killing instinct in 1 on 1 situations will mean a swap between himself and Martial soon enough. Martial looked very sharp pre season and has scored 2 goals from play in less than a half of football overall so deserves his chance.

Don't think United fans are getting too carried away after 2 games but the signs are good so far
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday

Good start. But that’s literally it; a good start.

Two things that are largely positive for us, especially in comparison to last year.

Last year we just couldn’t score enough goals. We weren’t mentally prepared to stand on the throat of teams and really kill them off. We also failed to score from a set piece last season. The psyche and the physical aspect of our play has changed. We now seem to have rectified both issues. We constantly look dangerous from every set-piece we are awarded in the final third. From free-kicks and corners, we look likely to trouble the net. This wasn’t happening at all during the last term and already looks to have been put right, though there is a long way to go.

We also seem to have built up that killer instinct, and have formed a ‘play to the final whistle’ mentality that has been sadly missing since the days of Sir Alex. Two games in, five goals in the final 10-minutes of matches - even though we were leading in both matches. Last season, this was the period in which we surrendered one-goal leads, but we are now utilising these minutes as time to stamp on the throat of the opposition.

I think United are mentally and physically prepared to mount a title challenge. But there is a long, long way to go as yet and there are three massive questions that need to be answered in order to see if we are title-ready.

1) Are we going to carry this killer instinct through a whole campaign? We’ve had the best start we’ve had to a campaign in 108 years…but will this mentality stay with us for the season…this whole ‘game’s not over’ mentality that we lacked last year. Big question!

2) Are Chelsea desolate? Are they a shadow of the squad they were last season? We have seen the awful and the great in Chelsea already this season…I have a feeling this Jekyll and Hyde Chelsea may be apparent for the whole campaign (as I alluded to in each of my season previews). If this is the case, it’s great news for United/City fans as it opens up the top spot. However, don’t be surprised to see Conte rallying this dressing-room to fantastic consistency in results. This is a huge question for United/City fans.

3) How f**king good are Man City? In my opinion, they look amazing. I’ve posted on the City forum to say this is the greatest Man City team I’ve ever seen. That ain’t hyperbole. It’s genuine opinion. They are devastating. All we need to know is how tight they can keep it at the back. I hope they don’t get Jonny Evans - he would be a terrific signing for them. Brings a wealth of experience. If they can stay tight, they’ll win the league. So another big question for United’s title credentials is; how good will City be defensively?

If the answer to these three questions are positive from United’s point of view, we can win the title. Absolutely. But they need to answer the first one positively first and foremost. It’s the only question they can answer for themselves.

It’e been an amazing start to the campaign. No big surprises for me. Still sticking to my pre-season prediction.

Steady on Sir. I don't think City have been anything special in the two games so far.

United will win their next few games. City need to get as many points as possible to stay in touch. Mourinho's teams are incredibly hard to reel back in once they get a lead in a title race.

Do you think the bus has something wrong with it?  what do you thin of Mourinho's style this season? Do you prefer the suit look or the tracksuit manager look?

Ah, they’re brilliant. Their movement is incredible. They haven’t clicked as much as United have in the opening two games, but it’s plainly obvious how well drilled they are. I think they’ll be awesome..devastating. It just needs a slight click. Thought they were unbelievably good in the second half last night with 10-men…just slightly unlucky. Some of their interplay was a joy to watch. I was sat at home applauding them. Think it’s the best City team I’ve ever seen and I also think they’re the most enjoyable (although not as effective) Pep team I’ve ever seen play.

I concur with this, when they click they will be unstoppable.

In terms of Man U, they've played 2 very poor teams. Be interesting how they do against Leicester and Everton.

Two games in is way too early to be gleaming anything meaningful from. United have beaten two sides that will more than likely finish in the bottom five of the league - we'll know more after their next couple of games but they won't be fully tested until they visit Anfield in early October. It's really an excellent opening set of fixtures for them and gives them a great chance to build an early lead at the top of the table.
