FIrst time I'd seena full 90 mns of Dundalk since the restart. They've no shape about the midfield really, lads popping up all over the place. Hoban up front, Shields sitting back, then 4 lads running around like 5 years olds following the ball. Need to have a better plan than that to beat Waterford, let alone win in Europe

Perth blaming the influence of the home crowd.
Can't fault the effort of the Dundalk players, thought they dominated the game and did everything but put the ball in the net, lacked that composure in the final third. |

Totally. Just need something extra to get to a level above tonight. A keeper, a centre half and a striker. A lot to ask i know.

I thought the midfield played very well. Just no real cutting edge although when you look back they had a few decent chances. Rogers is a decent guy by all accounts but he just no where near good enough for the next stepnin europe. He wasnt when Kenny was there but they had better players to make up for it. How has nobody in the club rectified this?

Same story as ever for LoI clubs in European competition. There's nothing unlucky about it. You cannot make stupid mistakes and you must take your chances.
That's why other teams keep beating ours. Because they are better than us.

On another night Dundalk win - even taking their defensive brain farts into consideration . They had brutal luck on front of goal . Expect them to go well in the lesser comp and along with Rovers make a few shekels . Dont think the league has regressed .
