Am I wrong, but Cullen definitely didn't appear to play as deep for Burnley as he does for Ireland. Seemed to be utilised far more as a link player in the middle. This performance would definitely indicate his abilities further forward IF we could find a player to replace him as a sitter.

He was brilliant on the half turn in the middle. We're so used to seeing him receive the ball in our third, but unfortunately he needs to be passing the ball to someone like himself in the middle...which we dont have.

Yeah he really is our only player who can play that deep role, he is so important to us doing that and nice to see what other sides he has to his game.

Shame really as he is probably one of the most technically gifted of the bunch in our squad, hopefully we produce a decent DM at some point soon and give him some more freedom.

Yeah was surprised myself because his system at Anderlecht had Cullen dropping back into defence with the RB providing width. Last night though it was Roberts that was making up that third man in defence when building phases and Costelloe was providing width mostly.

Think with Cork in midfield partnering Cullen either player can drop back looking for the ball with the other pushing on to support. Pity Burnley didn't have an interest in Knight because he would suit this team.

It might be added that Huddersfield were terrible and left gaps all over the midfield. Think they only had 30% possession.

Cullen found room to move into very easily but he won't find that against most teams in the league.

Not trying to take anything away from Cullen, he was superb, just that going forward in midfield was easier with all the gaps.

Cullen will keep Burnley up with these kind of performances.

Got his second assist of the season today in a 4-0 win against Swansea. Got his first last week in their 1-0 win over Coventry. Top of the league with only one lose this season. Won't get many assists as the holding midfielder but he's having a good season with Burnley.

Swansea were missing Manning who was injured I think, and Piroe got a straight red.

Hard to fault any of the Burnley players to be honest as for the red card nasty stamp on a Burnley player

Kompany has ye playing lovely football but plenty of draws. Seven draws which six are 1-1. Either Burnley find it hard to hold onto a lead or teams are sitting in deep and hoping to nick a 1-0 win.

Yer teams sit deep we cant get past them as no space and we have not found the answer yet .
A bit iffy at the back due to lack of a real centre half and our keeper well has his moments you might say .
Swansea are a decent side as i have seen some right tosh in the championship and they came out at the Turf yesterday at us left gaps and Tella with his pace did the rest .

look its hard to say we are poor in areas when you look at the table as we sit at the top .

Burnley are getting better Clap
