They must have some bonkers way of deciding the man of the match in Belgium cause he was obviously the best player on the pitch.

Once again there's nothing flashy about him, just this fook off diesel engine that just goes and goes. Breaks up play and positive when in possession.

Kenny will have him on the standby list.

You are. Have watched nearly all his games for Anderlecht this season. A machine. He ACTUALLY does what a lot people think Hendrick does for us. High energy but with a purpose on and off the ball.

There'll be serious concerns if Cullen isn't selected in the sqaud

Was he weak defensively for the Leige goal today?..Ive watched all his games in Belgium and he has been decent in some games. While I want him to be an upgrade on what we have I’m still not fully convinced.

How can they not have Cullen in the squad? He’s a shoe in surely I would be staggered if he wasn’t.

Will he start is another matter. Plenty options for midfield at the moment.

Great to see this work out for Cullen looking at social media he is adored by the Anderlecht fans. Hopefully they make it into Europe too as to see Cullen play in the Europa League even would be nice and a nice advertisement for the rewards you get moving outside England too.

Plenty of failed options. Really hope Kenny clears the decks!

He simply has to start. He’s a machine in the middle of the park for Anderlecht. I’ll be seriously worried if Hendrick or McCarthy play over him in Serbia.

Squad?! It would be outrageous if Kenny only has him on standby if someone gets injured.

He should be in the first 11 in Belgrade imo though I suspect Kenny won't start him.

I wouldn't even see it as being a risk to start him but a necessity tbh.

I'd say Anderlecht are still hoping for champions league next season-winner goes into the group stage and runner up goes into the qualifying stages.
Club Brugge are steaming ahead but only 3 points separate 2nd and Anderlecht in 5th!

Kenny has yet to pick Cullen in his original sqaud. He's been on standby every time. He's one of my favorite midfielders and I would 100% start him but Kenny doesn't appear to rate him

Reasonable question but I think the technical ability required for Belgian league is good. If we look at Cullen in that league he seems to be doing very well, he also did very well for Chalton in the championship for comparison.

I think Cullen is someone we should be looking to test in the ireland first team. He did really well when he played for the seniors already.

I think he brings more to the table than Hourihane and with Hendrick and Mccarthy struggling for game time you also have to consider match fitness

Molumby has fallen off a cliff in the pecking order as he can't get a game for a very average Preston team.

He's a good player, who was well regarded at WHU by successive managers. The difficulty was, Bilic didn't play with a midfielder at the base particularly often, and when he did, it was initially Alex Song, or Pedro Obiang who went in there, and during that stint Declan Rice emerged. Moyes and Pelligrini both seemed unwilling to sell him, and it just came to a point where it was hard to see him break into the team, and they loaned and sold him. He had a decent time at Charlton, in spite of their difficulties, and he is playing often enough that he needs to be considered.

The truth is, I am only so concerned about the level in the Belgian League. We have contenders for the squad who are playing in Cyprus, Scotland, the League of Ireland, and League 1 (which I think is a very poor league), and that shouldn't rule them out of contention, because players there can often bring something to the table, that is necessary.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about what league he plays in but Belgian football is technically good. He has shown in his few Irish appearances why he has to start. He's tidy on the ball and doesn't shirk away from possession. He is a specialist midfielder in the no. 6 role and is having a very good season by all accounts. A no brainer for me

Seems tailor-made for the  base our midfield.

We will learn a lot about SK in a few weeks if he chooses to go with McCarthy, Hendrick and Hourihane as the three.
Not saying that is wrong - but will just show a reliance on experience over form.  May also demonstrate a conservative streak that could hamper our development.
Hope I am wrong.

Cullen has been picking up a lot of media plaudits this last week. Here’s one I ran through translate:

https://www.walfoot.be/news/2021-03-03/josh-cullen-laffaire-de-lannee---ce-prix-la-on-ne-trouve-presque-aucun-joueur-de-ce-niveau

Josh Cullen was not necessarily the reinforcement that excited Anderlecht fans the most when he arrived, but the Irishman silenced the skeptics.

His 'English' style of play, his constant activity in the RSCA midfield and his leadership personality have made him one of the most popular players in the nucleus in Anderlecht.  "For this price, it's almost impossible to bring a player with such an impact," said Vincent Kompany.  For 500,000 euros, it is indeed a good deal, Josh Cullen arriving with the experience of the Premier League, where prices are generally very high.

As for the impression of a footballer above all physical that he gives off, it is misleading, according to his coach.  "He has more talent and qualities than he shows at first glance. Of course, you don't expect him to score ten goals a season, that's not his role," admitted Kompany.  "But he strengthens everyone around him, he does a phenomenal job."

A positive influence in the locker room

Above all, Josh Cullen, if he is only 24 years old, brings a very positive influence on his young teammates.  "Josh has enormous honesty in everything he does and he is a fantastic example for all these young players who will have a great career, who will go to big clubs. Even if he can be surprising in terms of the qualities that he is doing.  we expect him, it doesn't matter if these qualities are recognized, he is very humble ", explains the Anderlecht coach.

A hard-working attitude, therefore: "A player of such importance, who has known West Ham and the Premier League, but who has such a state of mind, it takes away any excuse from other players for lacking intensity  or motivation ", points out Vincent Kompany.
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"
