Hopefully he stays put, we've already got Shaughnessy and O'Connor competing for the centre-back positions at Leeds.

We're decent enough..

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

Good player. Haven’t seen the game yet, but don’t fancy him on the left of a three. On the right or in the middle and you’ll get a good performer.

looked a bit suspect but The best of a bad 3 last night. Lenihan is poison. Duffy was just out of sorts.

Duffy and Kevin Long are our best centre backs, if we must play three at the back then Clark should be there third man.
Egan should be fourth.

It is bizarre that Clark is our only left footed cb and we’ve never tried him on the left of a three. Kevin Long has done very well any time I’ve seem him in a three or a two. Hard to knock him. Should really seek out first team football. On the whole, I think a flat back four suits most of our players - colema ln and Duffy especially.

We shouldn't have 3 at the back, end of story. As Hans M pointed out after the last game, all it really means is that instead of 2 fellas who can't pass the ball there, we now have 3 who can't pass the ball instead. Egan would probably be the best passing CB available to us, but he's probably only the 3rd/4th/5th best defender.
I'd agree that Doherty & Coleman should be accommodated if possible, but not by changing the position of basically every remaining outfield player other than the poor misfortunate up front. Coleman is the better defender, so play him RB and put Doc on right wing. Its a problem position for us anyway, O'Dowda doesn't look up to it yet, Brady plays poorly there, McClean can't play there at all, Horgan is out of the picture and anyone else is only going to be a centre forward on the wing. Doherty can hardly do any worse there than any of those lads, and Coleman would probably appreciate a defensive minded fella in front of him, I don't really see a downside. Other than it might not work, but nothing is working at the minute, so at worst, its more of the same. |

Playing really well so far vs Leeds . bossing the back four. Stevens good. Paddy shows some tricks but he is not a LONE STRIKER. a la Stapleton or N QUINN. MCGLDRICK seems a bit slow and fat . Maybe Hogan later on.

Sheffield United's promotion to the Premier League was confirmed on Sunday as Leeds drew 1-1 with Aston Villa. John Egan -"If you go into a pub in Ireland, you have to have a song," Ireland international John Egan said with microphone in hand, "and if you don't have a song, you may as well not go into the pub at all. "In January, I said to my better half, 'I have got a song. We are going to the Premier League and when we get to the Premier League, I'm going to sing this song'." That song was Sheffield United's own version of 'Allez, Allez, Allez'. Edited by Double Maxim - 29 Apr 2019 at 10:05am |
