You'd hope between the FAI, his dad and his agent, he'd have had his Irish passport sorted a long time ago.

If Transfermarkt is correct then his first competitive cap at underage for England was two years ago when he was 19. Made his debut for Man City a year and a half before that and was highly rated at Derby before moving in 2019.

So you'd have to assume that the FAI have chatted with him and his family to guage interest and get his citizenship sorted.

Delap might have been considered a prospect before but has he done much to make us think he's one to be chasing, ahead of some of the other striking options we currently have, or younger lads coming through?

Delap has been very good for Hull this year, he's finally looking like fulfilling his potential.
We're decent enough..

yeah fair enough, seems like he's got 7 goals in 26 appearances but hasn't played since 1st Jan, knee injury likely to keep him out til maybe the final few weeks of the season.

Yeah things were starting to click for him this year at Hull. They often played him out wide too so wasn't always leading the line for them.

Similar Connolly was also starting to find his feet this season. Because of injuries he's only played 1192mins in his 26 appearances but has gotten himself 8 goals.

Looks like we are stuck with picking Irish born players until Cannon, Fraser & hopefully Delap commit. Their dedication to their club careers can only be good for us in the long term.
