Smallbone’s set pieces were decent too.

We’ve a remarkable inability to adequately defend within 30 yards of our own goal. O’Shea and O’Dowda get in each others way leading up to the 2nd. It’s amateurish, but with no obvious leaders (yet) in the back line, is bound to happen. Happens far too often though.

Whatever the result, friendlies aren’t going to get us to the Euros. I’ve seen us smash Uruguay a few days before we put in one of our worst performances in the last 20 years against a depleted Austria.

Don’t want to multi quote the 3 people who quoted me.

You might think I’m off my head, but not too concerned about the 2 soft goals tonight. 2 nil up against minnows, flat atmosphere, very easy to go slack at back/ lose concentration.

Ground will be hopping Monday, the players up for it, the lapses in concentration will be pointed out to players during the week, Egan brought back in, etc

Tonight was the night for the lapses in concentration to happen.

We need to learn how to be as motivated playing against your standard European nation as we are for a big game vs one of the European giants.

Do you think? It’ll be alot more than the atmosphere that will get us through it, but whatever you think yourself Shocked

We certainly do for competitive matches against minnows  - friendlies, not so much. Tonight we’ve capped 2 players who should start against France on Monday
