Italy gonna get the 3pts at home to Norway.
Even with their slip-up in Latvia, they'll be odds-on to top the group.
Anything from that tie next month is a bonus.
The huge match for us is in Norway and that's one to be excited about.
Great to have the 21's competitive when the seniors are miles off it.

That's Turkey pretty much gone already. Three way shootout now.

A draw today would be a good result
Flying so high, trying to remember
How many cigarettes did I bring along?
When I get down I'll jump in a taxi cab
Driving through London town, to cry you a song

I think that's a legitimate concern. If he's not quick enough to be a top level full back and not tall enough to be a top level centre back he could easily fall into the same hole O'Connor did. There isn't much room for slow full backs at the top level of the game these days.

He's 17, could still be growing!

Plus he's 6ft as per transfermarkt.co.uk. Taller than Seamus C and the same height as Matt D. His older brother Ben is a 6ft 1inch centre back.

Neither of them are that tall - I'd say both are in the 5'9-5'10 area. A lot of footballers exaggerate their height, particularly guys under 6'0. Doherty is a weird one, because he's often listed as shorter than actually is. He's about Bazunu's height really, between 6'1 and 6'2.
We're decent enough..

Also think Curtis is quite overrated funnily enough. Obviously a good player to have broken through so young, but it's hard to see exactly what part of his game is outstanding . Unlike O'Connor, he also looks pretty much fully physically developed already - I don't think he's going to get much more improvement in his game from that angle.

Ebosele started RW for Crawford at the start of the year and got himself sent off. Would have started RW again against Turkey if Kenny didn't call him up.

Would much rather go to the Italian game than the senior game.  Would be great if it was in Tallaght. Being selfish.

Nah, dont agree with that, Curtis looks the real deal to me whereas I remember when O'Connor was capped thinking how on earth has this lad got in?

I'd fully expect Curtis to be playing regularly at Championship level within 2 years. O'Connor hasnt made it out of League 2.

It's all about opinions though, so we shall see. I like Curtis, hopefully he is well advised and gets his big move right, I expect there will be plenty of interest. Dont forget, the lad is still only 17.

Haha yeah Ebosele definitely wouldn't start for Crawford. I remember his choosing Lee O'Connor over him ffs.

As you say, there is zero reason to have any u21 player in senior squad at the moment, with the exception of Ferguson.

If Moran is in squad in November, he might get 10 mins max off bench against the Dutch and then a runout in the NZ friendly. Pointless

I would keep Ebosele with the seniors too as our RWB situation is pretty bad.
Curtis has been solid for the u21s and is probably one of our brighter prospects in his age group so we need to keep his development going too.

I agree. Plenty of time for Moran to be fast tracked next year.

I'd keep him with the seniors only because Crawford probably wouldnt bloody use him Smile

I think that might be half the reason why he's there.

I think there's a fair case for all of the eligible lads bar Ferguson to come down. Dont think Festy will be starting away to the Dutch, so why not give him 2 huge games for the U21s and have a look at the likes of McNamara or Sykes in the NZ friendly.
