Wisla play in a state of the art 33.5k UEFA Cat 4 stadium! It was built for Euro 2012 as a back up stadium. Little over 10 years old. Sure even Crakovias stadium is a 15k UEFA Cat 3 stadium that went under a complete refurbishment just before Euro 2012. It actually hosted Ukraine v Kosovo in World Cup qualifiers back in 2016. |

Why is it strange they have played internationals there for years. The south would be more vociferous in theiir support too.

I had presumed (wrongly) they played all their big games in Warsaw. You have to hand it to the poles for a league that is fairly sh*te they have some decent stadia even by excluding the ones built for euro2012

Today's independent saying Poland have offered to host Ukraines camp and provide stadium for the games. No detail on any possible venue

I think they had a contract with the owners of the stadium in Warsaw to play all home competitive games there (including the game against us in 2015) for a number of years. That contract obviously must not have been renewed when it expired.

With Omobamidele out for the season, Duffy also looking touch and go,
& O'Shea needing a run of games (but not sure if he'll get them),
our starting back 3 for the NL could end up being Collins-Egan-Lenihan. So the current injury list looks like: Doherty (7-8 weeks, might be back but even if he is he wouldn't be fit to start) McClean Idah Omobamidele Duffy Hendrick (no info as to whether it's serious or not as of now) O'Dowda J.Collins (EDIT: Actually looks like he's just on the way out of Cardiff) Connolly (heel issue) O'Shea (fitness)
Travel-wise it's better, but from a games perspective it was better with Armenia as the second game where we could have rotated players more easily. Can't go with the strongest XI for 4 games in 10 days. For Key players like Cullen, Robinson, Ogbene, Hendrick, Egan (albeit less so as a CB), would've been good to rotate them out for the second game.

I see Ukrainian squad is assembling next week in Slovenia in prep for playoffs and nations league games. Home based players first to be joined later by players based around rest of Europe.

When do we expect the Ukraine away venue to be announced? Would be interested in attending if it's in Poland.

It's almost certainly going to be in Poland especially when the Ukrainian FA confirmed they were n discussions with their Polish counterparts.
