We can still put out a decent side but it's definitely worth getting other players involved, I'm thinking mcnamara who's had a fantastic season, Obafemi should be there and has been very good the last 10 - 15 games.

                          Bazunu
               Oshea Collins Egan
    Coleman                            Manning
                 Cullen Molumby
                         Knight
                                Robinson
                   Obafemi

Subs
Parrott
Keane
Browne
Ogbene
Dunne
Duffy
Lenihan

McClean to start LWB.
Ogbene a cert to start.

I'd actually drop Robinson in that left-attacking role for Parrott.

And I agree that Obafemi should not only be in the squad but should start CF but I'd be shocked if that happened.

Finally isn't Cullen suspended for game 1 in Yerevan?
Two to start in the middle from Hendrick, Hourihane (I know), Molumby, Knight and Browne.

I have the fear for that game...

Yeah interesting. I'm not sure Obafemi will come straight into the starting XI, might need bedding in, plus Ogbene & Robinson have plenty credit in the bank, they're definitely capable of scoring goals vs Armenia.

Think I'd go
                 Kelleher
       Lenihan Egan Collins
Christie Hendrick Cullen Manning
       Ogbene            Knight
                Robinson

Lenihan is in far better shape than O'Shea, and has honestly earned a start. He's been so unlucky having to drop out of so many of Kennys squads (injury/covid), he probably would have 5 or 6 more caps at this point if not for that.

Ideal scenario - score early, hopefully we're 3-0 up by the 60' mark, get Robinson, Ogbene & Cullen off to keep them as fresh as possible for the remaining games, get Obafemi, Parrott & Coventry on to see out the game (with no pressure on Obafemi & Parrott to score, if they do it's just a bonus).

I don't think the yellow cards carry over to a new competition, so Cullen should be alright.
I think Knight & Browne will need to be rotated in the AM role, so the 2 CMs can only be picked from Cullen, Hendrick, Molumby & Hourihane (I know, too).

Oh here's a fun stat I just found - Hourihane hasn't started a competitive game for Ireland since the 18th of November, 2020 (Bulgaria). He started 4 of those 6 Nations League games, but only friendlies since. He came off the bench in both Azerbaijan games (27', 1'), Serbia at home (12'), Portugal at home (11')

Maybe I'm going on about it too much, but 4 (really it's 3) CMs for 2 positions in a 4 game window isn't enough. We're in dire need of blooding at least 2 more CMs this summer [Coventry, Kilkenny, Taylor].

Scotland named a 28-man squad for this window.
If they beat Ukraine on June 1 tho, they'd have an extra match v Wales to contend with.

Hogan's a bit of a daft one. I'd give Long the nod ahead of him. From everything Hasenhuttl says about him, he'd be a good person to have in a long camp from a leadership and personality perspective. And in a cameo, he'd probably offer more than Hogan, even at 35.

Likewise.

Obafemi, Ogbene, CJ Hamilton and Ebosele give us genuine pace for the first time in....well, ever basically.

Seriously, what is your personal gripe with lads like Hogan? It was Collins before him.

Hes our second highest scorer in the Championship this season with 10 goals behind Obafemi's 12. Hes there on merit.

Long is finished. Hes 35 now and barely kicks a ball. Whens the last time he scored a goal for us, 2016? LOL
