Makes no sense seeing as both Pedro and Welbeck are also both on the pitch.
What sort of formation are they trying to play at all? |

As i said before this chopping and changing his team all season is catching up with him. Plus Fergie was the talk of the world after the Newcastle hatrick. Has he been managed that well since? Not sure. Yes i know he had a few injuries but nothing major.

We seem to love blaming Joao Pedro and now De Zerbi on this thread when Ferguson doesn’t score

You got to earn your spot in the team. Simple as that. Brighton aren’t on the best form but they are still 8th in the league, and in the last 16 of the europa league and still in the fa cup

He won a peno and assisted the opener on the weekend. He also had a goal narrowly disallowed. He should be starting.

I do think Brighton's league position flatters them having watched them a fair amount this season. They aren't nearly as good as last season. But no slander for Joao Pedro from me I actually think he's a quality player and can see why he is first choice for now. I do still think that he isn't the type of player that will do well with a striker partner. He is likely many strikers quite selfish. But that's not to scapegoat him just unfortunate for Evan right now it makes it hard to get his form back when he has to play his only minutes in a strike partnership that doesn't really work.

Brighton have been a lot slower and less expansive this year, perhaps a lot of that is down to Mitoma and March's absence. Pedro doesn't help either obviously, he's a mé féiner who is only really interested in scoring himself and doesn't contribute to general play the way everyone else in the team does.

Yeah that’s it. A lot of strikers you see are a bit selfish which is what makes them good at what they do.
I’m not worried for Ferguson. It’s probably better in the long run for him and Ireland. He’s getting game time and playing well without being pushed too hard. He’s going to be so important to us over hopefully two decades so I’m happy to see him being taken care of and given time to rest, as much as I want to see him play every minute of the season.

To be fair to Evan Brighton have changed the way they play and it’s obviously not suiting him. You’d like to think he’d be good enough to be able to adjust but its not happening yet.

It is a joke Welbeck plays so many games ahead of him if we are being honest! Needs a run of games something Welbeck has been given and done f**k all.

This is the crux of the issue and Ferguson ain’t the only one. Anyone interested should look at Mitomas form/numbers. He’s dipped alarmingly too and was put on the bench numerous times prior to the Asian Cup! Ferguson is he’s still getting minutes every week and he did his job against Sheffield Utd played very well. It’s on him to adapt and the dropping deep, linking up play will improve his overall game long term as well. It’s all a bit doom and gloom at the moment on here!
