Over the period, yes. But over the season just ended, the margin was wafer thin. And regarding 2021/22, or what will happen next season, what happened in season 2017/18 is increasingly less relevant.

I wasn't talking about bragging rights, merely venturing an objective opinion on the relative merits of the two teams. There's bugger all between them (imo).

And in a way, they're both winners. But in another, more accurate way, Man City are the winner.

After a season like that, you can't say that Man City are "better" than Liverpool, or v.v. All you can say is that they are both exceptional, evenly matched teams and this time MC managed a point more over the course of 38 games. If you could run that season again, it could just as easily be Liverpool who finished a point ahead. As for next season, I think Haaland could make a difference, even if he doesn't feature in every game, all game - City to win the title by 3 or 4 points?

One league title (behind closed doors) for the greatest football team we’ve ever seen.

Don't get me wrong, Liverpool have had a brilliant season and are a phenomenal team/manager etc
According to their fans, and many other football neutrals they've the best player in the world at the minute, the best centre half (of all time some say ), the best right back and left back others claim, the best defensive midfielder and the best manager. Yet they aren't expected to beat City to the league the same fans say and its a victory finishing second. Its Win Win for them. Edited by Roberto Baggio - 23 May 2022 at 11:16am |

It would help Liverpool’s public perception greatly if there wasn’t this exceptionalism narrative. “We’re still victorious in defeat” is meaningless when you look at the fact that City won the title and have the celebrations, while Liverpool didn’t.

Ken Early really doesn't like City. Pure bitter and sickened The sub heading: Liverpool can feel like
brave losers but City would have just felt like losers if title slipped away. |

I thought it was gone City were so poor for that first 75 mins or so. I'd no doubt Liverpool were going to get a winner so thought City were dead and buried at 2-0 Defence was all over the place again today, Zinchenko added balance when he came on and Sterling and Gundogan were brilliant subs to introduce

I agree with your sentiments, funnily enough he was quite poor today despite creating the winner
