As far as I know, there is nothing else "going on". Like all managers, Kenny has his blind spots. Unfortunate, as I believe Szmodics offers something different with his energy and endeavor. With Mikey out injured, Sammy could be the impact sub we need if chasing a goal.

I've seen Szmodics a load of times. He would be a good addition to the squad. He is attacking and can drive forward from midfield and score goals. He can be inconsistent however but he is definitely worthy of a place more than Hendrick or McGrath. In a years time I believe he will be a mainstay of the squad under a new manager. I've no idea why he has been ignored.

Brings on Jamie McGrath instead of one of the most inform number 10s over the past season in the championship. Makes sense to me. How is this guy not in the squad in a position we're desperate for options?

Only thing I can think of is that he doesn't fit into our system in 5-3-2. He would be better utilised in a 4-3-3 imo.
