If we're seeing our underage teams now moving to what the seniors are trying then it says to me the back three is here to stay for years to come. Hopefully Crawford sticks with it though and it wasn't just a one off for him. |

Yeah, very impressive performance back to front.
Gave away very little and dominated the ball. Only downside was it took a long time to get the 2nd, but it's a very minor issue. Am I right in saying we played three-at-the-back? If so, that's the seniors, followed by the 21's and now the 19's that have moved to that system and all looked the better for it. Edited by Fozz - 01 Jun 2022 at 8:45pm |

Also, this was not our strongest team, you will probably see a complete turnover of players on Saturday.

Iceland have players playing at a good level (although that doesn't always translate to a good national team) but this is a very strong team for us

Dominated from the start.
Iceland either piss-poor or we're making em look that way but either way, a very one-sided affair. Glad we padded the scoreline as we were stuck at 1-0 for ages whilst doing everything but score.

He's on the bench. Will probably see full rotation with subs starting the next game.
Must be using a back three with the amount of defenders named. |

Ronnie McGrath posting on twitter that he's injured and returned home early. Wasn't he out for a long time this season because of injury?

Just looking again at this squad (who play today - no sign yet of a stream or even a KO time from our FAI leaders) and one things stands out - David Okagbue was born in 2003.
Is he not overage for the next U19 Euros? The limit for the 2022 comp (which we exited and the finals are in Summer) was to be born on or after Jan 1, 2003, so I assume the comp a year later would be Jan 1, 2004. What's up with that or am I missing something? p.s. Vatta is not involved as he's had back-to-back seasons and was advised to rest this one out.
He very much will be involved when the real games come around. Edited by Fozz - 01 Jun 2022 at 7:42am |
