Surprised he hasn't already signed for a team in Scotland or somehow ended up at Wrexham with the other Irish players. Fact Kenny likes him and will call him up probably rules out a move like Wrexham if they were interested.

Wrexham's not a bad shout actually. But he has no track record of any success in England which probably counts against him. He has much more of a profile in Scotland, but outside the big two there's only three other teams there that pay any kind of decent money.

European football for him then. That's a step up relative to where he's been before now as long as he's playing regularly.

If he gets it sorted in time to feature in their first leg of the playoff this Thursday he'll have four games before the international break.

I like McGrath, so hopefully that's the case. Definitely worthy of a place in the next squad if he can get 2-3 games under his belt.

Not a huge fan, but given Smallbone's potential absence and the lack of game time of some of the other options, any minutes at all before the announcement will surely see him safely in the squad. Aberdeen is a slight step up, but it's still SPL, not convinced it's a League we should be drawing senior players from.

Was getting a bit worried and kinda surprised it was taking so long for McGrath to get a club as he's pretty decent and not a trouble maker or disruptive in any way.
SPL isn't the highest quality but it's better than wasting away on the bench in League 1 or the Championship. He's generally been a good performer for Ireland and I'd expect him to make the squad given our bare bones midfield options.

He's by far our most underrated player in recent years. A solid technician who is versatile enough to play multiple roles. He was one of the main reasons why we eventually broke down Gibraltar.

On McGrath Aberdeen is a solid move for him. Can’t argue too much with it.
Are they guaranteed Conference League football even if they don’t qualify from this tie?

Yeah it's the playoff round so they're at least guaranteed conference league football if they lose.

Makes it an even better move so. European football and a relative step up from St Mirren and Dundee in a League he’s familiar with.

Big impact off the bench. Aberdeen wee 2-0 down, McGrath on at 70' and it's 2-2 by 79'. He also had a goal ruled out as another player was offside. Lots of praise from the Aberdeen fans.

Came off the bench with 20 minutes to go and helped Aberdeen recover from a 2 goal deficit to draw 2-2. Apparently had a late effort ruled out which would have won the game. Still, an away draw puts them in a good spot to win the tie.

Fair result for Aberdeen only going down 2-1 over there. McGrath seems to have had a decent enough game based on BBC ratings, anybody see it?

Saw just a little bit of the game and heard the commentator saying McGrath was playing really well
