Aritz Aduriz has 13 caps for Spain but also has 13 caps for the Basque country in unofficial games so I'm sure something similar could be done here. Lopes is actually an Irish citizen though, I'm not sure if Coote is so therefore wouldn't be eligible.

The Basque country football team aren't affiliated with FIFA or UEFA though which is why they can play for both, the normal conventions on representing different countries don't apply. Cape Verde are FIFA/CAF affiliated so it's not the same

Good point but if it was merely an "LOI XI" and not a Republic of Ireland official match then it would be the same, no?
