You are the one misusing stats you gobsh*te. I'm not wasting any further energy on you. You have a clear agenda.

Good argument, well made. Here's another scenario - we seemed to pass backwards more often against the Swiss than against Belgium. Defenders got on the ball, didn't see a forward pass - better Swiss marking, or maybe we missed Ogbene as an outlet - and went back to the keeper more often. Bazunu, under no pressure, quite rightly plays a short pass out to the opposite wing to try get play moving again. Result - he has more short passes, giving your "higher accuracy" stat, which as we can see is really just a factor of how the game went and not a measure of the two keepers

yeah the 2nd he conceded today was poor. should be behind Kelleher in the pecking order now. On the face of it another rough season for Bazunu. Hopefully it'll stand to him in time.

He's conceded a sh*tload in that Southampton side ...terrible move for him in hindsight and probably set him back a few years if he can get back but he's still a kid in keeper terms

1st goal maybe, thought 2 and 3 were hard to save. Similar enough to the ones CK conceded against Anthony and Diallo the other week, actually. First was near post which isn't great, but was a rocket tbf

There’s absolutely no way he should be conceding that first goal…he actually dived under it.the 2nd was an early hit so no chance for him but the 3rd he should be doing better.his positioning at times is very suspect plus he always seems to be a few yards off his line all the time when conceding which makes the save even harder.

That's not great. Think he had bad stats last season too. I don't understand those metrics tbh and would prefer to judge a player on what my eyes see. He certainly looks a far better keeper to me than those stats - but in the data obsessed world these guys now operate in, Gavin needs to improve his stats or his career will go nowhere.

i think with last season you just give him a pass , first PL season, terrible defence in front of him which is a good enough excuse even if his numbers were awful. dont think he'll get away with that this year now the tables have turned and Southampton are hoping to go up. you really need your keeper to dig you out of a hole when you are chasing honours. saints fans seem to have lost patience with him after yesterday. whether they go up or down i think the summer could see him replaced.

(Turn around, Bazunu)
Every now and then Southampton fall apart (Turn around, Bazunu) Every now and then Southampton fall apart And I need Bazunu tonight And I need you more than ever And if you only keep it tight The Saints will be holding on forever And he'll only be making it right 'cause the pass completion will never be wrong Together we can take promotion to the end of the line Kelleher is like a shadow on him all of the time (All of the time) I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark Defense is a powder keg and Manning's giving off sparks I really need Bazunu tonight, title challenge gonna start tonight (Title challenge's gonna start tonight) Turn around, Bazunu...

I think people are being overly critical on Bazunu yesterday. First
Goal he could have done better but on a near post shot that is the one place where a striker can beat the keeper high and hard into the roof of the net. The other two I wouldn’t blame him at all for him. They were past him before he could see it due to bodies in the way etc.

It seems that at least one of Bazunu and Kelleher must be denounced as sh*t at all times

2-3 years ago, there was a feeling we had an absolute worldie of a goalkeeper on our hands. Like many young players, time has also brought a reality check. He's very good goalkeeper, but I don't see him reaching the the consistent high standards of peak Shay Given.

We have two top keepers both 25 and under. It's the absolute least of our concerns. Caoimhin is getting game time finally and shining. Bazunu has been playing every week since he was he was a teenager, taking his lumps and learning. It's so far down our list of concerns, I don't bother myself worrying about it. I'm happy with either starting any game for us.

poor for the 2nd goal today. seems to have a bit of a problem getting down quick enough to his left. conceded a similar goal a few weeks ago too. been a rough enough year for him. could see a move in the summer regardless of southampton getting promoted or not
