Any of the casuals I know have no plans to go to this game and even some of the regulars I know are holding off on making plans for now. Doesn't mean big groups of both may not end up going !

That's what I thought a couple of months ago - big crowd. But with the confirmation of (1) ability to travel and (2) access to tickets going to be at late notice, I am less convinced and expect a small turnout.

Yeah you could well be right, hard to tell to be honest. Just from the few I know that would casually go to the "bigger" games per say, they aren't going to Portugal, oddly planning on going to Azerbaijan though...

That's what I was thinking - pent up demand for the 1st away game since Switzerland in October 2019, and an attractive destination in warm sunshine.

Don't think there'll be as much demand as you'd think. The causal fan wont be bothered going to see us probably get well and truly beaten. Coupled with hesitancy to travel etc |

easyJet changed their sun fri flight times to early start late arrival so changed to sat - thur - suits us better anyway
I presume we will be allowed in but with a reduced capacity be hard to know how many we would get - think Fr teds plane and parachutes

Presumably the Portuguese intend to allow Irish fans at the match? That’s the whole point of staging the game in the Algarve? Because they want to stimulate tourism again?

I suspect that like recent games in Ireland, you'll have to bring ID etc.

I’m guessing home fans only based on the way they have applied that to all club qualifiers but who knows .I am going to travel for a few days sun regardless .

Take the train from Farranfore. Much more comfortable and handier.

Finally got this organised. Out on the Sunday and back on Friday with time to recover for game in Dublin next day. Flights from Belfast to Faro for £123. Room for me and mate £280 in centre of Albufeira Old Town. Hopefully things will ease further over next two months and we finally get back to watching YBIG. If not, it's a five night break in the sun.

Flying back to Kerry Saturday morning myself too, in two minds weather I'll be in a fit state to drive to Dublin or I might just book the train.

Booked flights last weekend, we're making a week out of it. Flying back to Kerry on the Saturday morning to be able to make the Azerbaijan match.
Really looking forward to it. Hopefully we can attend the match.
