Nobody will care. A nil all is as likely as a hammering. In a proper game they would beat us easily.

Expecting a big support for this so hopefully the fans will rise the team.

The last thing this team or Kenny needs now is another defeat and against England of all teams. Stupid decision.

That's the spirit. Sweet f**king jesus.  Impression I get from some is that a win in Sarajevo would have been a mere formality.

The FAI needed the money so they were never going to turn it down. Have they ever chosen friendlies to better our rankings tho?

I doubt England will play their strongest team but they will still have enough to beat us. Hopefully we can put in a good performance. The players should be really up for it.

Let’s be honest, even if we were in pot2 our chances were slim. Pot3 means we need a Hail Mary.

What money will they get for this? No fans means not much cash available for an appearance fee.

From that point of view, you are spot on.

We should only ever play teams that we can beat, this is how we will learn and develop.

A terrible decision to arrange this.

I actually feel sorry for Stephen Kenny here. We're going to get pumped hard and he's going to get the blame. England are levels above us, we can't even score a goal against rubbish outfits. This could get nasty.

If you think we'll get hammered by England then I don't know why you're worried about the seeding in the first place if we're that bad we won't be going anywhere

Well I’m not worried personally about seeding, a team that can’t score a goal this year isn’t going to improve enough to get close to Qualified next year. This is a project for 2024 euros unless we luck out with an incredible group and playoff opponent.

We’ve played them twice in friendlies since 2013 no need to be playing them again unless it’s a competitive fixture. For everyone wondering will Grealish and Rice be taken out absolutely no chance all these players are friends with each other there’ll be no neeedle in the game the exact same as it was in 2013 and 2015 both sets of players wishing they were somewhere else

I play with the same gang of friends every Wednesday night at 5 a side   we cripple each other. Friends off the pitch, enemies on it.

Would Kenny have any say in this decision or is it purely a financial FAI one?

SK is quite happy with it from my reading of it. He didn't seem to fancy being forced to Sarajevo for a friendly when the two NL games are in Cardiff and Dublin.
