Kevin Long deserves another go if his swelling goes down, looked gutted to come off.

I had assumed he was concussed and out for Wednesday

Can't see Hourihane or Hendrick playing another another 90 minutes, if they even start at all.

Molumby a shoe in again. Cullen/Knight/Byrne should see game time. Although when it comes to Jack Byrne, I'm not sure any more. Given there was no McGoldrick today, we essentially had zero guile in the final third, yet Byrne didn't feature.

Kenny may genuinely have dropped the idea of a number 10 and is going for pure energy.in.his midfield 3.

Also, on positive, it's great that Kenny is getting a look at so many players. It may be a case that ideas in his head are being fast tracked given the circumstances.

There could be more positive tests in the squad before Tuesday, it wouldn't be a surprise.

True, results from tonight's tests tomorrow morning supposedly.

The three games in a row could be a blessing in disguise in terms of getting to look at players - very rarely get that in international football outside of tournaments.

Letting you boys know that Brighton don't have a leg to stand with on this.
They legally have to release him. I know the English think the Nation's League is a joke. Any big country wouldn't put up with this from little Brighton.

There needs to be a fuss kicked up over this.

Here's Fifa's new adapted rules for the release of international players during Covid:

https://www.fifa.com/who-we-are/news/bureau-of-the-fifa-council-approves-international-match-protocol-and-adapts-rule

Release of players temporarily adapted

The Bureau of the FIFA Council has also approved several temporary amendments to the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. In making this decision, the Bureau took into consideration the role the FIFA protocol will play in the mitigation of risks related to COVID-19 and in obtaining the required exemptions from authorities for sportspersons travelling internationally for the purpose of matches with their national teams.

Temporary amendments

These temporary amendments shall apply to all international windows for men’s football, women’s football, and futsal scheduled for the remainder of 2020.
All international matches taking place in those windows are required to apply FIFA’s Return to Football – International Match Protocol or an equivalent protocol of the relevant confederation compliant with the said Protocol.
The rules relating to release of players to association teams, as provided for in Annexe 1 [of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players], apply as normal except where:

i. there is a mandatory period of quarantine or self-isolation of at least five (5) days upon arrival in:

a. the location of the club which has an obligation to release the player to an association team; or

b. the location where a representative team match is scheduled to take place; or

ii. there is a travel restriction to or from either location (a. or b. above); and

iii. a specific exemption from the relevant authorities relating to the above decisions has not been granted to players of a representative team.

Both Ireland and Finland are on the UK's foreign travel corridor list with no quarantine needed

I thought it looked like he couldnt see out of the swollen eye rather than a concussion. Hopefully it will come down over the 3 days and he is available, otherwise we only have 2 centre halves.

Seperately, I dont think Manning has played this season yet, is that right?

Assume these call ups are just bench filler aside from possibly Idah.

Quite simple really. He doesn’t fit Kennys template.
What is that exactly, strikers who can't score goals.
Collins looked out of his depth for Ireland. Not a shock tbh

It's certainly strange as it appears Connolly wants to play. Why is Idah in but not Connolly

I'd start Idah up front from what we have. We really should try 2 up front at this stage. Be interesting to see what Kenny does.

Seems like Connolly has a slight injury and that's reason Brighton are not releasing him

Would make sense seeing as he sat out a day of training last week before the playoff

Are there grounds for appealing McClean's red? Not saying it wasn't justified, but if an appeal allowed him to play on Wednesday, while we await the outcome, we could do with him.

This post isn't intended to create a debate on whether or not it was a red card, or if McClean is great or brutal. Would just like to know if an appeal would free him up for selection.
