Better off IMO, anyone can throw money at something but you’ll be a hell of lot more proud if you do some/all of the work.
Plus there’s f**k all else to be at these days

when I say "we'll be doing the inside", the girlfriends brother is an aspiring carpenter so he can have a go it.

Rented out an industrial dehumidifier yesterday so the place should be ready to paid this weekend.
Paint👀

Very, very important part of getting the perfect pint - beer clean glasses.
I use hot water and clean with a three brush thing that sits in sink (About a tenner from the Bat Company in Ballymount). Let air dry and make sure they are bone dry

What you doing at the font? Brick with a small door?

I am wondering what the cost would be to have a mostly glass front.

Would it not be better and probably a fair bit cheaper to use clear polycarbonate sheets instead of glass gerk.
Just because it's tradition does not make it right

PVC hall door and 4 foot double glazed window at the front. Just plastered for now, don't know if I'll bother painting it.

Clean them the way Gerk described then fill a tea pot with boiling water, leave the lid open, hold a glass over the steam for a few seconds and then polish them with a dry cloth. If this or renovate doesn't do the job, the glasses are probably too old so just buy new ones.

You'd never believe there was such a f**king science behind a clean glass.

Boozers use a spec'd dishwasher for their glasses only - most do anyway.

Some people on the home bar group's on fb are very sensitive about how you clean your glasses. Personally I just wash with warm water and a small bit of fairy liquid and let them air dry and seems yo do the trick. Putting them on somewhere cold before using them helps too

Can't be a dishwasher! Glasswashers are dear and shouldn't have anything other than glasses in them. It sounds obvious, but has been the ruin of many a pub!
