You shouldn't be, Borussia. It's hardly been a rosy tenure to date..

So, why is he still in employment then?

Why was The 2002 World Cup prep a sh*tshow? Why was John Delaney in power for 15 odd years? Why was Don Givens Ireland U21 manager for 10 years?

C'est la vie. This is The FAI.

A comparison of no real relevance here.

Beginning to think that TJ was right about you, tbh.

I presume he's got a majority vote of confidence from the board?

So, if he was as useless as many have said on here why would he get the vote of confidence?

Imagine an FAI ceo been kept on when not doing a good job., that's never happened before.

If the appointment of a new manager is a farce he should be out the door
It would damage this forums' reputation

So, we should compare the current FAI which has been totally restructured at board level in terms of responsibilities and the people on there, including fan representation, to the old FAI which had none of that. Because it has the same name over the door it must be the same - Right?

When did this current FAI board keep on a CEO who wasn't doing a good job?

I think you're a little naive/optimistic with your thinking about most Ireland stuff. Each to their own.

I will never trust The FAI until the day they prove themselves.

@Borussia, I think we would agree that a huge part of Hills remit would be to restore public opinion in a new FAI and, at all costs, be diligent in his role as not to remind us of the old FAI. He's completely failed at that.

I'm not naive at all. But judging one group or organisation based on a totally different, older organisation makes no sense.
This version of the FAI should be judged on what they achieve and do.

I'd definitely agree with the part in bold.
Not sure I'd necessarily agree with the first bit just because there are people out there who will always be negative to the FAI even if there was no current reason to be like that.

The reality is, there is a significant cohort of people determined not to have "confidence" in the FAI, regardless of reforms, completely new board, new Chair, new CEO etc etc. Whoever takes on the job of chair or CEO of the FAI must surely understand that. Comes with the territory.

I've seen enough over the past 3-4 years not to be optimistic. You're willing to give benefit of the doubt. I'm not.

As mentioned by others, it's up to them to address/fix public opinion.

Nothing further to add.

Canham should follow if O'Shea is appointed
Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn

Agreed, unless something dramatically surprising happens this week which no one seems to be too confident of happening.
