So Slovakia being the nearest team ahead of us hopefully they can lose their NL fixtures this month and beat NI next month in the play off.

Slovkia v Scotland and Israel

NI are right behind us and could jump us if we don't have a good Oct
Ni v Austria and Norway

Slim hope is Turkey in the same group as Russia and Serbia. Would want a run away leader and the others to get a beating.
The dark side.. And the light

What are the chances that we end up with Pot 2? Not likely, but still a possibility?

We can win/lose an average of about 7.5 points per game

2 wins and 2 draws, or 3 wins and a loss would probably get us ahead of one of Turkey or Russia, and the loser of the North and Slovakia.

Anything less we would be hoping one of Turkey/Russia come close to losing all of their games, and hoping the same for the loser of the North and Slovakia.

Unlikely to get 8 or 9 points from our remaining NL games – although a win on Sunday would make it a realistic goal.

Oh and Iceland could also throw a spanner in the works if they win the NL final and at least one of their NL games.

Grand results today - North, Iceland, Slovakia and Romania all lost. A winner in the Russia Vs Turkey game would have been ideal but still time for either to finish below us.

Ive a permutation - score a f**king goal.

Long’s header today was like Harry Maguire heading out for a corner FFS.

Yep, to be in Pot 2.

As well as ourselves playing Finland on Wednesday, we have teams around us playing:
  • Slovakia v Israel
  • Turkey v Serbia
  • Norway v N. Ireland
  • Romania v Austria

These three games will shape that table some more or could even complete it if Da Covid kills the November NL window (not beyond the beyonds).

The loss to Finland was significant and we really need to reverse a lot of that damage on Wednesday.
3-0 Ireland, anyone?

I know Romania had suffered two losses for the last two games but how did they lose 22 points in the rankings?

We will overtake Slovakia as long as we match their result, even if we both lose.

If we win, and Turkey-Serbia isn't a draw, we will overtake the loser. A draw and both will stay ahead of us. If we draw or lose we can't overtake either of them
