Some great memories reading this thread. My favourite trip was France 2016. It had everything including probably the 2 and a half best games of football we played in the decade. Great viewing the Two Shades RTÉ documentary on Sunday.

Plenty more to look forward to after this pandemic

France was class. Good football memories, great weather, easy travel and big Irish crowds having the craic.

Confused weather was sh*t

Paris - meh
Bordeuax sh*t bar matchday - note - the glorious sunshine the preceeding 2 weeks
Lille - sh*t
Lyon - decent

The weather in Lille was fantastic, about 30C on matchday before the 9pm KO. The players also spoke about the heat IIRC.

Did a count there, think I'm on 26, first was Poznan 2012, permanently hooked since, 27 if you count Cork.

LOL

Cork is in Ireland, it would have been a home match! Don't listen to the "people's Republic of Cork" carry on!

Baldie said this on another thread

The away trips are not generally a good advertisement for a happy marriage anyway 😀😀😀”

Generally the wife is fine with one away trip each year and any tournaments are okay. She’s been on a few trips but mostly I go with the lads.

Would many on here be going to every away trips without the wife?

Depends on what your criteria is.
° Is it because the games are at a neutral venue?
° Would you count games like the one against Oman at Craven cottage as it was a neutral venue?
° I know lads that count the Belarus game in Cork as an away game Wink.
Personally I count them but then it's no massive difference either way in my lifetime we have only played 23 games at finals and very few have been at all 23.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

I’m sure a few on here have - lucky bastards

If I could pick one tournament for 4 weeks it would be USA 94. Very jealous for those who made it.
