Cardiff beating Preston at half-time. Scorelines elsewhere also going Cardiff's way.

Mick has won five straight league matches for the first time since doing so with Wolves in October - November 2008. Great to see after his poor treatment in Cyprus.

Mick has had a really good start that's for sure, but it's a little premature to suggest he's already a success at Cardiff.
Hes had a similar number of games in Cyprus and it was unfair to judge him on those games and call him a failure. |

They change managers like I change underpants. He knew what he was in for. A holiday in Cyprus with a huge payoff and a long-term aim of managing in the Championship again.

Delighted for Mick and it would actually be great if he got them up. He might look to sign one or two of our players.

If they were to go up, he might sign John Egan or David McGoldrick, although I wouldn't see a McGoldrick signing going over well with their fans.

Jaysus - he's managed 8 odd games and people are planning premier league promotion and a shopping list of players

And this time a year ago we thought a golden generation of talent was about to break through with a revolutionary new manager overseeing it.......football fans tend to get carried away

I can count the number of Irish players who've been signed by foreign managers at PL and Championship level on my pinky finger. It would be a positive thing if McCarthy got Cardiff promoted because he has a history of signing Irish players and bringing through young Irish players at club level. Aside from the obvious ones, I remember him trying to sign Daryl Murphy for Wolves. We need all the help we can get - especially with 5 players going down with Sheffield United and West Brom. Potentially more if Fulham catch Brighton or Newcastle.
