That is very impressive. These boosters will save us a lot of hassle and save lives the first half of next year.

It's not about how hard it is. It's about how effective it is.

You can argue about qualifications til you're blue in the face, but unfortunately the only qualification the idiots have at the Department of Hardship, is scaremongering. Every medical prediction they make is the worse case scenario, and every single one of them is spectacularly wrong. So let the public decide how they should protect themselves instead, at least they might stand a chance of getting it right.

Throw Kelleher in, he wouldn't be long getting rid of it.

Masks in Primary Schools being advised. Jesus wept. I teach 3rd class and there is not a hope in hell they would be able to wear one effectively. Most adults can't! Shows how far out of touch the decision making is and will do more harm than good for children

We are continually told schools are safe sureLOL Believe me, as a teacher this is only going to cause more hassle. Some of the kids find the day hard enough as it is without doing this. Some craic getting the kids with additional needs (over half my class) to wear them. Most of the joy has been taken out of the school lives the last two years without needing to make it harder for them all for a virus that has minimal impact on them anyway. It's decision making by people who don't seem to have much of a knowledge of how schools work. Maybe sorting out ventilation would be a better idea instead of us having to work in baltic conditions.

No no no looks it’s obviously easier to open all the windows, make the kids wear their coats, put the heating on full blast till it breaks, get the kids to put on their masks and struggle with all aspects of learning

So today, an unelected body will try dictate public policy without the green light from the Government.
This is quite alarming.
NPHET have utterly failed to protect schools, instead consistently lieing to the public about "schools being safe".
Now they want to lock down the very same children they claim are not at risk.

Yes they do and the kids have been great in wearing them in our local elementary school (350 pupils, aged 5-11).

I'd look at it as the government trying to play both sides. Probably don't want to disagree with NPHET's advice but don't want the anger from the public. They should either be coming out and 100% backing whatever NPHET suggest or turn it down in private.

This just seems like a fudge by the government.

I've been against NPHET getting any air time since the start of this. Their job is to advise the government, not to hold daily press conferences. No other advisory board on any topic gets the attention they do.

At this rate every meeting in the civil service at every level should be televised!

Agree. And their flip flopping on this issue suggests they are failing badly. masks in school and antigens being pushed through 20 months into this.

The situation is changing constantly. Flip Flopping is when you change your mind with the underlying issue stays the same. It's okay to change your opinion when the situation changes.
