i did a search there and article I read said made in 3 plants - 2 Uk and 1 Netherlands and then put into vials in different locations - 1 in Wales and and  1 in Germany.

AZ have screwed up here - not flagging their manufacturing project was behind until the last minute.

I suspect there will an agreement of some sort with the poorer non EU / UK countries impacted most.

It's just boiling down to alot of frustration, Pfizer are shutting down it's production factory for 3 months at a very inconvenient time and AZ are failing to meet supply demands to anywhere outside of England. It's looking likely countries based in the EU are going to end up starved of vaccines for a period.
Have looked everywhere online about this but can't find that story. Why would they be shutting their production plants in the middle of a pandemic?

The same reason why any other production plant would shut down - To upgrade it's production line, they'll be doing this for a lifetime now.

The news is about a month old now. And with AZ only able to deliver where it's manufactured it's very understandable why the EU and other major nations outside the EU such as Canada and Australia are extremely upset.

if the Uk got their order/preorder  in before the eu then fair enough but not  sure that is the case

I think it's just a case of everything running dry for the time being until production steps up.

I read in the news today about the EU considering putting a block on any Pfizer exports to avoid the situation happening again but Pfizer is the main vaccine being used outside the EU bloc so it's gonna hurt them alot doing that.

Seems to be made in a few places. It was a company called Halix in Leiden, Netherlands that I read about

One of the lads i work with his wife died today of covid , it really stopped me in my tracks when i heard the news . 
Lansdowne Road debut aged 52 and 201 days .

lock it down till April, get the numbers down and then keep it to level 3 till the vaccines are done. Anyone going on a foreign holiday in the next eight weeks should be refused re entry or locked the f**k up. We have to save people’s lives here.
