nearly all numbers you’ll find on vaccines will be number of jabs for the next couple of weeks at least. I’d say be mid Feb in Ireland they’ll start publishing data on # of people with first jabs only, # of people with second.

That’s probably fair enough though they (UK) did go with the recommended interval for a quite - your woman from Fermanagh got a second jab

I don’t know how they are so high when everything is closed.

Can’t comment for everywhere else in the UK but everything is far from closed in London. No comparison against the first lockdown in March
Nothing was closed then either. We needed a proper lock down, what we have got, more than once, is the very worst of both worlds.

Employers are the most responsible. Alot of places don't want to furlough cos they can't be arsed with all the admin work.

Mine's one of them, this is despite the fact the new medication I'm on puts me in the higher risk group and the response so far has been 'Just claim sick pay then'

Reproduction rate is between 0.5 and 0.8. That's very good news. Hope we start seeing the fruits of that soon.

I agree they are responsible, but not the most responsible. The ****s i work for would shoot me for a fiver, but that's because the government allows that position.  It starts at the top.

Okay not everything is closed but with the bars / restaurants/ schools / cold weather etc there is considerable less people out and about.

The supermarkets are a lot stricter now where I live in London, you have to wear a mask and shop alone.

I’m very surprised the daily infections continue to be in the 30K +

The UK have issued nearly 5M vaccines but they will struggle to make their target of 15M by mid Feb. They need the supply to be bumped up (like everybody else).
But once the supply is available they should be able to administer 500k a day.

Asda and Morrisons only just started enforcing this from last week, and even this has grey areas because of Government legislation.

It is illegal for a store Security guard or a store staff member to enforce someone to wear a mask, which is a major part of the problem. If power's were given then the problem would of been resolved months ago.

So the figures aren't remotely surprising to me.

Yeah I know -

I’ve seen imbeciles giving the security guards abuse for asking them to wear a mask.
Even the police can’t make them so you need people to show a little respect. 99% of people do.

Anyway how is the Coyner, where have you been?

It certainly isn't enforced here in Cambridge and, let's be honest, why would a security guard on minimum wage be bothered! It really isn't worth it! I know it is illegal, as Coyne says, but even if it was, would they? I wouldn't!
Building sites are still open, as are the few factories that are left. It's only the middle class who can work from home. Also, because of how those at the top dealt with it from the start, it isn't being taken seriously. Yesterday, one of the vilest human beings in history announced an £800 fine on house parties of more than 15 people! It's like living in a f**king sitcom!

I feel sorry for you stuck in a country like that.
That's what I said about Ireland when the report on mother and baby homes came out and blamed 'society'. It's a different kind of backward here.

It's a distraction and another way of passing the blame on to the public. Why pluck 15 out of thin air? Can I have 12 people around?

The bigger question is what sort of property are you living in which can host 15 people in the same house LOL

Are they operating a 1 in 1 out policy with doorstaff in the porch area or what?!

Last weekend, a paramedic told me that they got an ambulance call out to a house. When they got there, a rollover session was still in effect and the dopes present wanted Covid tests from the ambulance crew. Shocked

I didn't question him further but I assume he wasn't spoofing.

Anyone who tests positive for COVID in England gets £500 from Monday.

So basically you can turn up to your 15 guest house party and use the £500 to pay for the £800 fine.

What a mad world we live in LOL
