You'd also think that more of these vaccines will be approved soon, given that the technology used is very similar.

Will any vaccines be produced here? Just asking given all the big Pharma in Ireland.
Pfizer are producing in Belgium and Germany. Moderna don't operate here from what I've seen.

Where I have the problem is in the lack of leadership and governance from the government and certain civil society organisations like the GAA, and the disinformation peddlers

I said we better leave it which to you is the same thing as me agreeing on being wrong LOL

Okay so there we have it individual citizens have absolutely no civic responsibility because the government isn't providing leadership.

Both the Government and its citizens have responsibility to the rest of society. It's not one or the other.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Anything I hear in the media are sole cases. It would be intersting to know the proportion  of cases which gone on to develop long term health issues.

I only quickly glanced at an article but I think its possibly as high as 25%

This isn't peer reviewed yet and people might question the data but basically it's the kind of study I'm interested in.

Our 14 year old had one, negative result. He hated the experience but he likes to make a meal of every little thing.

Sister in law and husband had it as did one of the kids. The two other kids tested negative in 3 separate tests each. Only the husband reported main symtoms (loss of taste) sister in law said thinks she felt a little ill for a few hours but was like mildest flu ever.

Haven’t had it myself, out of our group of friends a good few have, with 2 (a husband and wife) positive back in April. Both were quite sick at the time.
My own wife has had 2, she’s a nurse and thankfully both negative

Tested every 2 weeks for work. The nasal swab is unpleasant but you get used to it.

My girlfriend has been tested 4 times and all came back negative even though she did develop most of the symptoms after being a close contact to a patient, who had come back positive, so it was probably just a head cold or whatever.

I've had it 14 times.
Initially I found them awful especially the throat swab but now I get them to swab the the side of my throat instead of the back and it's fine.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

3 times. One was due to the covid app as a close contact from someone on a flight, the person sitting beside me didn't have the app and didn't have to get a test.

The hse also sent out a text to the both of us to say that we had been sitting too far away from someone that was infected on the same flight, but I should get a test if we developed any covid like symptoms.

It was always a bit far fetched to assume the 2m rule would be working via bluetooth.
