I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been a huge surge in people pushing the 'Go Vegan' movement more, considering the virus was (apparently) started by somebody eating a bat.

I'm sure there has been some talk of it, but was expecting there to be a much bigger push on mainstream media and social media about it

The virus originating in bats is not the same as someone eating a bat!

The widely held belief is that a human contracted the virus after eating a bat. If the human did not eat the bat, they would not have contracted the virus. No?
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday

That's not a belief widely held by experts though, if even by any expert, they only know it came from an animal, probably a bat that then affected a pangolin but that's it.

They don't know how it got from there to humans.

BSE jumped from cows to humans after consumption.  Cattle got BSE from sheep after eating scrapie sheep.

It's likely that's what happened here

Nature has a cruel sense of irony, the beautiful Pangolins are considered the most trafficked animals in the world, humans kills thousands every month. That they should be one of the links to our own misery is somewhat fitting.

It would damage this forums' reputation

Planning aka Novak Djokovic contracted Coronavirus after deliberately hosting a no social distancing tennis tournament to prove Covid was overyped.  Went dancing in niteclubs the lot as part of the whole thing.  They've all come down with Covid 19.

The Dumbening is happening

British Government allowing holidays to Spain, France, Netherlands, Greece or Croatia without the 14 day mandatory quarantine on return.

However, if Brits travel to Sweden, Portugal or USA the 14 day rule will be in effect.

Strange one Portugal as their numbers are very low.

All those countries don’t want the brits but need the sterling.

Confused Portugal are at 400 cases a day. They have double our population alright but still doesn’t look like they’ve peaked

+1
Portugal is pretty much the next European hotspot for the outbreak.

Sweden is only banned because of the herd immunity, it's taken far too long than they expected and it's going to be rife for months there because of it.

Where are lads getting their hair cut? They can't all be cutting it themselves, it looks too professional. My hair looks worse than Keith Andrews' now.

Just wait until 4-5 weeks after the pubs open.  If only this virus could mutate to target only gobsh*tes I would welcome it.

I repeat. Why on earth are people tracking daily figures? The weekly figures are well down again. The virus doesn’t just multiply in a 24 hour period.

Regardless, cases will go up as people start travelling again and our economy reopens. People will go bonkers if they are tracking case numbers! We have to live with it and accept its here to stay.

It’s impossible to compare countries and I never look at cases as it depends on how many you test and even the tests are not inaccurate.

However based on no of deaths Portugal have less than Ireland but twice the population.

I wouldn’t travel anyway but Portugal seems better that most.

Cases are relevant to travel rather than deaths though and that’s the basis for which the countries are on this list.

Only relevant If you intend on travelling to EVERY part of that country.

It’s personal choice if you want to travel.
Imo Portugal seems safer than most Europe countries.
