for what it’s worth no drop in AZ stock price this morning suggesting the 65+ story last night is mostly rumour.

If this turns out to be true it massively delays the roll out of the vaccine in the community to over 65s. Many over 65s would have been hoping that their GP could give them the vaccine in Feb/Mar. This along with the delay to the supply of the vaccine to the EU mean that is unlikely to happen to a large cohort of the over 65s. The logistics of the AZ vaccine is far simpler and efficient and can be done by GPS, this is not true for Pfizer and unlikely at the moment for Moderna. If you are over 65 and thought you may be vaccinated in the next 6 to 8 weeks, the news on AZ over the last few days If true is a disaster.

seems that the percentages were the amount of people tested in the over 65s rather than efficacy, shocking journalism by the German paper.

Well they said the distribution to the UK is not impacted. Basically means we can’t meet our deadlines so instead of reducing deliveries to the UK AND EU, we are taking all the reduction from the EU numbers. I see the EU are hitting back saying their may be delays with the Pfizer vaccine made in the EU being delivered to the UK.

There seems to be some nit picking regarding products.
EU v AZ, wonder is it slightly because of Brexit.

Where are the AZ manufacturing plants and can exports be legally blocked?
Who owns the intellectual property of the vaccine and in what jurisdiction? Still a lot of questions to be answered. AZ have screwed up here - not flagging their manufacturing project was behind until the last minute. I suspect there will an agreement of some sort with the poorer non EU / UK countries impacted most.

The IP is owned by England as it's main Headquarters is based in England. It's just boiling down to alot of frustration, Pfizer are shutting down it's production factory for 3 months at a very inconvenient time and AZ are failing to meet supply demands to anywhere outside of England. It's looking likely countries based in the EU are going to end up starved of vaccines for a period.

Is that not Pfizer? AZ has 3 plants with 2 being in the UK. The other one is Holland I believe.
