The bosses wife is a nurse and got the vaccine yesterday, bad reaction to it apparently and off sick today. She's getting the tinfoil out now and will be ready to join a zoom call with Jim Coor and Planning shortly.

Looks to be on track

Good news on falling numbers but deaths will continue to be high. We made a mess of this at Christmas.

That is one way at looking at it Mark. But I do believe people needed a break. People were tired, the numbers were not bad. The anti mask movement, etc  was getting a lot more louder. People were flouting the rules and people would have flouted the rules over Christmas anyway.
Yes there was a huge spike on Christmas day which has led to a huge spike in hospitals and deaths. But I think that would have happen even if rules were not relaxed.

The silver lining is that i Think everyone is more in it together again, similar to the first lockdown and more willing to wait until the vaccination campaign to take place as we have clear proof that once you relax restrictions the virus spreads and its not worth chancing it when so close to the end

Speaking of anti maskers, was just sent this

Irish people Christmas different to others as we do it in bigger numbers and have house visits with larger families.

Some countries they barely know what a cousin is the families are so small.

People needed a break? Give me a break! Course we all need a break but we don't get to decide. There is no break in this right now. The majority of people were selfish and just carried on regardless meeting up for large family gatherings, people coming home when a lot of them could have left it this year. I am slow to criticize the government as just because someone can do something does not mean they have to. Although IMO they should never have opened up hospitality right before xmas. People have to take their own responsibility and stop blaming the rule makers all the time.

Yes people needed a break, I can see what the government were trying to do. We had the best numbers in Europe. We had an overall strategy of living with the virus.
We did react when the numbers started to go in the wrong direction. There will always be an argument on whether we should have cancelled Christmas completely, i.e. ban household visits like they did in other countries, but I dont think it would have made a big difference like it hasn't in other countries.

Can't believe the Danes are so on the ball and we aren't, actually I can. What's a lot more surprising is the slowness of the Dutch, very uncharacteristic.

How Denmark is administering vaccines at three times the rate of Ireland

Europe Letter: Danes have vaccinated 2% of their population and even ran out of doses

So it turns out we are 2nd in Europe, behind Denmark Clap

It's not a competition, and I know you're messing, but perspective is important. If we are going to go hell for leather giving out about how we are making such a balls of the rollout before the rollout can really even begin, I think it's important to recognise when it's going well.

I'd be been thinking wouldn't it be a novel idea to only allow our vaccinated senior citizens in for the game. Singings Section would be pandemonium if we scored

Hopefully you’re wrong. Our immune systems will weaken if we’re constantly wearing masks and sanitising hands. Meaning our bodies will take even bigger hit if we get infections, etc.

This virus will be around for years. We’re going to have social distancing, tests, masks, etc for a long time yet while authorities are reacting to the virus. I don’t think this vaccination process over the next few months will be the silver bullet everyone’s expecting either.

Doesn't seem to have an impact on Korean and Japanese and Chinese immune systems where this is quite common.

How common is it? I've never been, but from working in the airport I'd only see a small percentage of those wearing masks before all this. But come here, whether all these lads wear them or not, with the amount of mad stuff, wild animals in hygienic conditions, etc, these lads eat id imagine theyve built up decent immune systems.

But think about very young kids now, if theyve to wear masks, sanitise all the time, etc they'll never have a chance to build up a decent immune system.  I was never good at science, in fact I'd fail the most popular section in biology Cry, but I'd think its quite logical that if your body is not exposed to weaker germs, itll hit your body harder when its exposed to more dangerous ones.

Regardless, as I said, this reaction to corona is going to go on for years Cry

And this right here is the problem with the internet LOL
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday
