Gas that Alex Gilbert ended up at Boro costing a £1m and you see the teams Knight is linked with for £2m. Unless teams gotta spread the budget around and obviously wages would be higher but £2m for a player of Knights experience at a young age is a bargain. |

Balls, wish I'd have picked up a season ticket now. Definitely motivation to take a short walk to Ashton Gate a good few times this season

Crap move. They will struggle this season, they'll be fairly close to the drop.

Maybe it might be a crap move but its better than playing in L1. I don't know who people are expecting to come in for him.

They've made a couple of good signings already this summer. Pearson is a good manager, knows how to get a team performing better than the sum of its parts.

And if they go down then he is right back there again. And there is a real chance they do. They arent a team that will be looking at a promotion any time soon. They arent building anything. It's an improvement right now but long term it doesnt speak to great prospects for him.

If he does well for Bristol then he gets a move elsewhere anyway. It doesn't seem like anyone higher up on the ladder is coming in for him and this is at least one step up

They finished above Stoke and Birmingham last season. They have some good young players including Mark Sykes and Max O’Leary and a good manager in Pearson. They don’t seem to have much of a transfer budget like a lot of other Championship teams but that could change if they get big money for Alex Scott.

Three seasons ago they finished 26 points from the playoffs, two ago the finished 20 off playoffs and last season they finished 10 points from the playoffs. So a gradually improving side, under a manager who does know the division and how to get out of it as he did with Leicester & has a good pedigree in signing players. What has happened there this summer departures wise or finances wise to make you say what you said ? What has changed ? They aren't wealthy, they aren't a buzz transfer no. But what are you basing there is a real chance they go down on ? When the above is what has actually been happening. Edited by Scissors Kick - 09 Jul 2023 at 9:20pm |

I can see the move working out quite well. Will likely be Alex Scott’s replacement. Hard working style should suit while the attacking midfield role will likely bring the best out in developing his technical/output qualities. Bristol will have their eyes on moving him on for a profit.
As for going down I don’t really see that at all. Think they will likely range from 13-20th again. |

56 senior caps between Knight, Idah and Parrott and it’s a bit worrying that none appear to have found a level of consistency beyond mid table championship players

They're all lucky Kenny is the manager. Would be lucky to have half of that.
