There could feasibly be a non-Barcelona/Real Madrid pairing in the top two for the first time since the 2001/2002 season when Valencia pipped Deportivo to the title. The halcyon days. I loved when the Champions League had two group stages. |

Maybe I worded it badly. I meant this could feasibly be the first time since the 01/02 season that neither Barca or Real Madrid finish in the top two. Atletico Madrid virtually have the title sown up, barring an incredible collapse, while Sevilla and Villarreal could easily finish in the top two given Barca and Real Madrid's instability. |

That was some season for them. Had to go to Barca on the last day with a 3 point lead after a draw and a defeat in their last 2 games. They nearly blew it. And were seconds from winning the champions league. Beat Barca in the 1/4’s and should have beat Real in the final.

Was watching that final in Sinnott's and there was about 10 Atletico fans there, full of noise all game. Have never heard a crowd as silent than when Real got the equaliser. So nearly an amazing season.

Some comeback by Barca in the cup. I checked the score and they were 2 down to Granada after 88 mins. That's it I guessed. Checked final score and they won 5-3 aet. And Messi didn't score..

Atletico Madrid doing their best to throw away the title. Lost 2-0 to Levante today and Real Madrid are currently in front against Real Valladolid. Barca won't have the CL to distract them much longer either.

Tbf looking at the stats AM battered them but their keeper was in superb form. They have a cushion but need to get back to winning games. Real and Barca seem to be back in form in the league anyway. |

It’s probably best for AM they get knocked out of the champions league to focus on the league but I thought they would have been better than their showing last night....
Real are only 3 points behind them now.
