Celtic press release said he's now due to go on preseason with the team.

Does this mean he's out of under 19 championship (as clubs under no duty to release). Also, given that Celtic's season kicks off earlier with European qualifying, this may indeed be the case.

Exactly and sounds like he has a Celtic background.

Does Lennon know him from his Bolton days?

Either way this is a major move, a great opportunity, and away from the hot mess that is Bolton.

Good news for us.

Not because Celtic are an ‘Irish’ club, but because he’ll probably play first team football and England generally don’t call up players from the Scottish leagues, even at underage level.

good replacement for Tierney at left back. Would much rather he joined a club that allowed him play the deep lying playmaker role due to his passing range, we badly need someone who can do that aswell

Bolton Wanderers administrators have turned down a request by defender Luca Connell to terminate his contract with the club, Sky Sports News understands.

The 18-year-old, who visited Celtic yesterday as he looks to asses all options ahead of a move away from Bolton, handed in a notice of termination yesterday.

Due to the financial situation at Bolton, some players have been able to enforce their right to walk away from the contracts due to not being paid their wages.

However, Connell is on a scholarship contract and it’s unclear whether that option is open to him and therefore the administrators have rejected his request.

If the player did terminate his contract, Bolton would be likely to receive a development fee of around £250 for the highly rated youngster.
