I don’t think it is. Collins will be integrated gradually would expect it to be next year or even the year after before he’s established as a regular for them. 6 year contract it’s a long term contract for a long term project.

Has a big opportunity to stake a claim today mind.
Broke their transfer record in the summer for a defender who they plan on being a first team regular for the 2025/26 season?

That would have been a hard pitch to their board.

Their board will have been sold a view Collins is one of if not the standout young homegrown CB on the island that they can develop and sell on for at least twice as much in 4/5 years time if not earlier.

That angle is very obvious. I meant regular as in cast iron regular. I do expect him to be as such well before the 25/26 season but just giving the worse case scenario as his contract of 6 year with an option for 2 more years indicates too.

That's good to know, Kev. Thumbs Up

And this diamond.....

He is articulate enough but immature and not sure why have hired him to replace Souness.  He is a more annoying version of Micah Richards.

A younger demographic will identify with Sturridge. He's perfect for Gen Z.

Sky are trying to stay relevant by hiring influencers and viral football fans from social media platforms. Nobody takes Sky seriously anymore when it comes to transfers. 10 years ago, most people would have used Sky as their main source for transfer related content. In 2023, all you have to do is follow Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein on Twitter/X to keep up with transfer gossip.

I wonder what Keano made of Andy Cole's song that he released in 1999.

Sounds like he was back to his best today, good to hear. Obviously early days but Brentford are second in the league behind Brighton, which would have been an unthinkable 1-2 at any point of the season a few years ago.

Collins definitely better off out of Wolves anyway.

he got massive reviews on the Brentford fans forum for performance today. Keep this up for the season and we have a serious player here.

He's always been a huge prospect for us. Biggest prospect we have right now after Ferguson. Was nominated for Premier League player of the month (not young player or anything like that) back when he was with Burnley. He just needs to cut out the individual lapses that he's prone to and he can be one of the best centre backs in the division.

Nate is gonna fit Brentford like a glove. Brentford’s model in a nutshell sign players that are underperforming relative to their ability which he was at Wolves.

Coming into an experienced back line helps him too. Can worry about his own game.

I wish him nothing but the best. So I'm glad to see him doing well as much as I'm still sad we sold him. In a way it will be more fun for me now I'm not emotionally invested in any mistakes.

Brentford seem to tactically know what they are doing which does help young players.

Do we think he will be dropped when Ben Mee is back fully fit? Or go to 3 centre halves at the back?

Remains to be seen, but these lads seem to think he has a reasonable chance.

I did see a coach on twitter pointing out that he had got himself into a terrible position defensively thus necessitating the admittedly excellent last ditch tackle!
