Just 2 non Irish based players. It's that some sort of record for an underage team? I know players can't leave until they are 18 but is it an indication of less players declaring for us?

On a side topic I'm getting Romeo Akachukwu on the back of my shirt!

Isn't it strange not a DDSL Club in sight. No Joeys, Bevo, Kevins, Home Farm either on the 17s or any of the younger groups. How do the DDSL clubs manage now with players not going over until they are 18 and having spent the last four or five years. Any views please.

Is that not just a result of how it is structured now? These clubs feed in or have partnerships with the LOI teams' underage sides

Deleted a post and a reply as it came across very poorly, borderline xenophobic, even if I don't think it was meant that way.

Indeed, one would think that any player has to have a name like Séamus O'Muircheartaigh in order to qualify for the national team.Smile

You don't think it was meant that way? Really? How are we going eradicate comments like that if there are cop outs issued on behalf of the posters.

Fair comment, that poster has posted for a very long time and has no record of anything like that, hence my comment.

And we will eradicate it by deleting similar comments, letting people know why they were deleted and suspending and banning posters who make several such comments, same as we have always done.

Naj Razi, plays with Rovers. Someone must have mixed up the order of goals scored as he scored the second goal with Mason Melia getting the third. Melia was still playing U15s this time last year so possibly underage again next season.

Poor result for the U17s as they draw 2-2 with Belarus. Norway beat Belarus 4-0 in their first game and currently 1-0 up on Armenia. We play Norway on Wednesday.

Last matches of the group on now.
We need a draw to guarantee 2nd, a win to get top.
If we lose, it will come down to whether Belarus can cover an eight goal GD to topple us...30 mins in and both games scoreless, so long may that continue.
